Had our 1st test/tune of the season. We’ve run ET Street R’s for 2 years, the last race of last season I switched to Hoosier DBR for the last 3 passes. So Saturday I made 3 more passes on the Hoosiers…I’m not sold on the tire yet so I ordered another set of Mickey’s to get a better comparison. I made 3 passes. 1st pass I lifted, track was cold all day and traction wasn’t great. 2nd pass was a 10.89 at 128.47mph. 3rd pass was a 10.92 at 127mph. I haven’t driven the car since day 1, 2 years ago(my son drives the car, but couldn’t make it to the track). I’m pretty confident with him driving and getting set-up dialed the car can go high 10’6s or low 10.7’s. We should be back at the track in 2 weeks for more testing.

Very nice! Way to chop down that ET like a lumberjack.

Yes, might do a converter next season.
I did a mild converter on my charger RT and shaved .2-.3 off the ET. If you do your own work it’s well worth it as the converter itself is fairly cheap.

What don’t you like about the Hoosier DBR?

Not what I said. I simply want to get a better comparison of the MT and Hoosier. Whichever tire works best for the car at our home track, is the tire I’ll go with.

That is sweet! I am in the middle of building an na 10 second car and several of your mods are still on my list. Would be very interested to see what tire you end up keeping.

Awesome. I’m curious to see what tire works best for our car as well. My gut feeling is the Hoosier hooks better, but may give up a few MPH on the big end. Our home track is always a very well prepped track.

I had it written down, now can’t find it. The Hoosier is a lot lighter then the MT…..it was something like 8-10lbs less.
