I like the look of the Mach-1 front bumper much more than the 2018-2020.

This is all good info, amk91 (and we really DO appreciate the Easter egg you supplied recently!!)

Info from another reliable source (and posted by Ace, here) has indicated the '20MY will run until December 2020, with the '21MY kicking off in January.

As for the '21MY facelift.......I'm still not 100% convinced it's coming. I think all the recent prototypes we've seen have been various Mach 1 prototypes (either that, or the facelift will use the Mach 1's new front fascia.....and I thought that was supposed to be unique to the Mach 1) They've all been based on GTs, with not an Ecoboost in sight. That being said, the timeline is ripe for a light refresh as indicated above. We had '15-'17, '18-'20....so '21-'22 makes sense. And it's what we had with the last two models years of the S197. Hopefully we'll see further spyshots soon which might give us more information.
Interesting, definitely November 2nd must be production start for a 2021 Mustang. Meaning a January launch, as first units to dealer is about 2 months.

My car was built in September and delivered in mid November. Thanks BTW. I hear that Fusion and MKZ production ends on July 30th?

Unfortunately, I have no insight as to production dates at Flat Rock and have to rely on good sources here and on Blue Oval Forums. The longer '20MY info initially came from member Ace, here. The information was actually initially referring to the EU models (with an assumption that it would mirror the US models). Later, this was backup up by a post on Blue Oval Forums which listed:

2020MY Mustang "Balance Out" date is 12/23/2020.
2021MY Mustang Job #1 Date is 01/04/2021

Take a look at this thread here:
https://blueovalforums.com/forums/i...oduction-week-scheduling-information/&page=16
Forum member Ice-Capades regularly posts Production Week Scheduling info and I queried him there. You'll see he asked the question of his Zone Manager and got the response above, which matches the info that Ace received.

Ace's thread is here:

I'll admit, I was very surprised to hear the '20MY would be extended. I can't ever recall a time when the new Model Year Job 1 was in the same Calendar Year. Even with Covid, I expected no more than a two-month extension to the "usual" changeover date.

Yeah it's peculiar indeed. I remember the change over to MY 2013 MY was actually even earlier than normal, already in March 2012. That was basically the same moment in S197 history that we are probably having now in S550: the second facelift, kicking off the last two model years of the generation.

It's strange indeed. Such a long delay would lead me to believe there have to be changes to the '21MY that are still being tested. We need more spyshots to give us some clues! :bandit::camera:

They maybe test the refresh with mules that just look like the 18+ models. If it's really just a small visual update of the frontbumper with some minor changes like SYNC4, a camod prototype would get much more attention then just test the mechanic and eletric stuff in a 18 body

True, but at some point they'll need to test any visual changes, they always do. And those sort of prototypes are usual on the streets at least 6 months before production begins.

I'm sure Team Ford have a good laugh at us going stir crazy trying to work out what's going on

All eyes would probably be on the Velocity Blue Mach 1.........but this is the general '21MY thread and what do we have parked behind it? That looks to be a Grabber Yellow Ecoboost......which is a '21MY color, so it would appear there isn't a '21MY facelift!!! @Ace

Thanks for the picture!
I am losing my enthusiasm for new Mustangs though because of the so called Mustang Mach E trash.
It’s really sad.
I recently wrote Ford about it.
I may be done with new Fords.

Interesting stuff. Seems like the original 2021 Mustang the S650 (CD6), was canceled by Hackett a few months after he arrived in May 2017.

My only concern is Anthony Colard doesn't mention anything outside of Mach 1.

https://www.linkedin.com/in/scott-georges-1b7b3033

However this guy does and he's referring to S550, because anything CD6+S650 died in 2017.

https://ca.linkedin.com/in/syeedhasan

I think like the 2019 Fusion 2nd MCE/MCA, the 2021 Mustang refresh was an eleventh-hour decision by Hackett back in 2017.

Under Mark Fields, he expected a S650 redesign by February 2021 to fight off 6th gen Camaro, with all the bells and whistles. Hackett undid that.

These little old database nuggets are legit and give it away. - DISCLAIMER: THE LISTED BELOW IS FROM 2016 AND NOT CURRENT:

MKZ was going to be 2020/2021 Zephyr and rear wheel drive. Mustang sedan in Lincoln skin?

Oh, so you actually meant that you were referring to job 1 and not showroom launch?

 That makes more sense in terms of the Mach 1 is going on sale in Spring 2021. I think that either lead times are going to get longer between assembly and release, resulting in a May or April launch from January 4, 2021 J1 or the typical two months time frame will result in March 2021 release of 2021 Mustang.

But didn't someone on here post a timeline showing May 2022 Job 1 for S650, meaning July 2022 release? Seems like a foolhardy waste of money to only have updated S550 for 16 months vs at least 2 full years.

What I've noticed a lot of car makers and some what some Googling tells me, the reason they gave it a facelift in March 2012, was because they had finished designing the S550 and wanted the updates to have enough time in the market before
S550 arrived.

I heard from someone at Ford that this photo set was taken right when the 2013 models went into production in January 2012. They do this on purpose, but why? Interesting pattern...

The only time I've seen a date for S650 was your original Linkedin thread, and this old thread from Topnotch from 2018.

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/7th-generation-mustang-s650-moved-to-2022.104738/

These were hypothetical dates for S650, based on the actual dates that we saw for the '19MY......with the assumption that each new model year would launch in 12 month cycles.

Actuals....
03/12/2018 - 2019MY Order Bank Open Date
04/12/2018 - 2019MY Scheduling Begins
06/11/2018 - 2019MY Job #1 Date

Hypothetically
03/2019 - 2019MY Fleet Final Order Due Date
03/2019 - 2019MY Last Day to Spec Change
06/2019 - 2019MY Job Last Date

03/2019 - 2020MY Order Bank Open Date
04/2019 - 2020MY Scheduling Begins
06/2019 - 2020MY Job #1 Date

03/2020 - 2020MY Fleet Final Order Due Date
03/2020 - 2020MY Last Day to Spec Change
06/2020 - 2020MY Job Last Date *ORIGINAL S650 Date of May 2020

03/2020 - 2021MY Order Bank Open Date
04/2020 - 2021MY Scheduling Begins
06/2020 - 2021MY Job #1 Date

03/2021 - 2021MY Fleet Final Order Due Date
03/2021 - 2021MY Last Day to Spec Change
06/2021 - 2021MY Job Last Date

03/2021 - 2022MY Order Bank Open Date *NIXED S650 Date of March 2021
04/2021 - 2022MY Scheduling Begins
06/2021 - 2022MY Job #1 Date

03/2022 - 2023MY Fleet Final Order Due Date
03/2022 - 2023MY Last Day to Spec Change *NEW S650 Date of March 2022
06/2022 - 2023MY Job #1 Date

But, if the extended '19MY is accurate then all this goes out of the window. HOWEVER, as I posted in the image above, there's a '21MY Ecoboost in Grabber Yellow.....it has to be a '21MY as GY is a '21MY color. So it must be a TT (Tool Trialling) car........5 months before job 1? That seems odd if the '21MY isn't going to get the facelift we were all expecting. Looking at that Grabber Yellow car, it looks idtentical to a '20MY.
