Help me out, I'm a mechanical weenie... the offset is the distance between the spokes and the calipers of the brakes?

Offset is the distance between the actual mounting surface of the wheel - think back side of the wheel behind the holes for the wheel studs - and the mid-point of the wheel width as measured between the bead seats.

Is that w shaped structure, the brake caliper?

No. This is a section view of the wheel alone. That 'W' shape (most apparent in the positive offset image) is the wheel's center and spoke contour.

The caliper would be on the car side of the 'W', located further inboard due to rotor and rotor hat dimensioning. The spoke shapes obviously still have to clear it.

I don't know how much clearance is provided, or how much "wiggle room" there might be either side of the offsets provided.

My understanding is the Standard wheel offsets are +45 Front and +53 rear , please double check this on your own wheels to confirm.

The offsets may be noted on the inside of your rims. You would have to remove a front and back wheel to check.

I assume if I want the base setup/ 5 spoke wheel as a 2nd setup I should be okay without issues on a Mach 1
HP. Correct? It all comes down to handling from what I can tell.

You may have problems with too big tyre diameter difference between those two setups (+4.9% between 315/30 R19 and 255/40 R19). Same issue as for people with normal wheels who'd want the wider wheels. But if you'll pick slightly different tyre like 275/35 R19 then the diameter difference is only +0.8% which is fine, and Michelin has this size in PS4s. Similarly 255/35 R19 (-0.8%) is better for front than 255/40 R19 (+3.1%) and again available in PS4s.

Maybe the dealer can code different tyre too if you'd want original sizes, but since in USA you can freely choose the size it's not an issue (unlike here where we have only original 255/40 and 275/40 R19 sizes allowed).
