since when does Ford publish wheel figures? That 430 is engine.
What are you talking about?

A: Any Bullitt making 430 @ the motor, is having engine problems.
B: No one is talking about what Ford publishes.
C: That video is from Steeda/Tuning by James
D: That number is from a WHEEL dyno, not Engine Dyno.

You’re thinking of the 15-17 cars, which make 435 at the crank. Bullitts make around 430 at the wheels, which is pretty consistent seeing as GTs make 410-420

Were the Bullitts seeing gains in tunes? I would think absent E85, or other bolt ons, a tune isn't likely to do much but increase drive-ability.

The Gen3 seems to be fairly maxed out with the Bullitt/Mach setup in regards to tuning.
Didn't do much for my '19 Bullitt...

Excited to see some Mach tunes and number posted when the cars start coming out, I’d love to get GT350 power with minimal bolt ons/tune

I had an e85 custom tune from James on my 18 5.0 with the a10. That car would move. Most don’t like my Dyno number but let’s just say it was high 400’s at the wheel.
That with a Steeda cold air intake and Borla cat back the car ran mid 11s.

Nice that’s sweet, I wish I had E85 in my area. Luckily I do have 93.

480ish is to be expected with those mods. There are people making 500whp with those mods and a set of long tubes

Haven’t seen too much from Bullitt owners, but I know stock they dyno about 10-15whp higher than a GT, and I’m sure a tune could unlock A LOT of power with that air intake and TB combo (particularly if revving to 8k)

that part of the problem I’ve seen maybe two dyno sheets of a bullitt since they came out. The bullitt went under the radar and IMO not in a good way lol. But as you’ve said, they make 10-15whp more than a stock gEN 3 car, and that will continue with mods. 500whp will happen with long tubes and a e85 tune

This is the only head to head I’ve seen and it’s one of those generated graphs
Reminds of the Ducati V4 vs V4R graph that got a lot of shit a few months ago lmfao

It’s an apples to apples comparison but as far as i know they didn’t do any tuning changes for the manifold testing just put it on there and see what happens

Just for comparison sake here is more data for y’all

with how good the gen 3 intake really is most of the gains are going to come from extra tuning, the 87MM, and the gt350 cold air package. It’s all a cumulative affect, which is why in the dyno above the results don’t look very good for the older gt350 intake manifold

It's also that on a stock engine nothing is really being done to make it need more air flow then the Gen 3 intake offers. Taking the RPM out to 8k may show a bit of a gain for the GT350 IM at the top end. It also depends on if it's the same tune for both, or if the tune is changed to take advantage of each IM in any way. I suspect that on a FI engine, or one with higher-comp and redline the GT350 will shine more as it has more flow. At that point it will turn into more of a Ported Gen 3 vs GT350/ported GT350. Anyone doing that would likely just have what ever stock intake they have ported to save money, or use a CJ intake at that point and call it a day instead of spending the added testing/money time though.

The problem is that there are a lot of variable and many places dont mention in much detail what they did to account for them, or aren't very clear what FULLY was in the testing (ie any potential retuning).

IMO the line goes Gen 3(better low end) = GT350(better high end) -> Ported Gen3 -> Ported GT350 -> CJ.

Unless you are doing a purpose built engine there is likely no reason to spend money on the CJ, and for a generally daily driven car with light weekend fun there isn't much reason to spend $ changing your IM or porting it. Now if I was going to have a daily driven car that I often road raced, and staying Naturally aspired then I may got to a ported Gen3 or GT350 for the better top end/higher RPM flow.

Probably by now a lot of owners have experience getting their Mach1 tuned.

I'm considering a Lund tune on my stock 2021 mostly for the smoother auto shifting. I'll be running 91 so not expecting big power gains.

Anyone has experience specifically with Lund on their Mach1?

I went ahead and ordered the Lund tune, let's see how it goes. With the amount of soot on my exhaust pipes it seems to be running rich as well which is not uncommon for cars from the factory. Hopefully the tune will address this as well.

I'll report back.
