I am planning to replace the battery myself (first time). Any recommendations/tutorials here?

Also, I am planning to get the 96R 600 CCA battery. I hope that's the right one?

Be mindful of the battery cover "buttons"; they're easy to lose when removing.

Disconnect from the source of electrons, the negative cable on the (-) terminal, first.

After the physical swap, connect the negative cable last.

The car will be silent for about 15-30 seconds. Then, all kinds of chirping, buzzing and clicking will happen.

Once buttoned up, perform a BMS reset.

Enjoy the new battery.

Are you having issues? What kind? Isn’t it a bit early to replace?

I replaced my battery in my Ecoboob last year. It was only 3 years old. The previous owner replaced the battery right before I bought the car. It was an AGM so I expected it to last a LOT longer than 3 years. While searching for another AGM to replace it I found something called and EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery). There are pros and cons to both but I think for my use here in Florida it should be the better choice. You might want to learn a little about both battery technologies before you buy. You can also use an optima battery but they're a lot more expensive. I've never used one in a passenger car so I don't know if they're worth the extra expense.

I changed my 2020 with only 20K miles after seeing it sitting at a level of 12.2. no signs of anything but that s too low for a sitting battery.

Alright thanks guys I bought the Interstate one from Costco. 96R 590 CCA.

In terms of the replacement - I removed the old battery and tried to install the new one. In the process of connecting the negative terminal (after the positive one), the car suddenly started and I am tying to figure out if its supposed to do that. I have since disconnected the negative and figuring out whats next.

I have the service manual on my computer in the garage that I will check later. I believe the manual states to wait at least 2 minutes after shutting down the car before disconnecting the battery. This is because all the electronics require the time to store what they need to store in memory. Otherwise, data corruption may occur. I will follow up when I have a chance to look this up.

So because the battery had died, the car was jump started before (a week back). Today I replaced it and it looked the starter engaged unexpectedly. After I made the comment, I just went ahead and tried to connect the negative again. This didn't turn the engine on again expect the front lights.

I performed the BMS reset as suggested above and it all went fine. This all worked out effortlessly overall. Thanks for all the help above guys!

I was mistaken. I checked the service manual today and I could not find any mention of a recommended time between shutting the engine down and disconnecting the battery. It was likely in my Jeep manual.......or I am just getting old.
