Hello all, I have a stock 2021 and ordered a roush h pipe. I read online and watched installs and thought that it was just a cut and clamp up install which I was going to buy the tools and do myself but I had a shop quote me a lot cheaper than just the cost of the tools but after taking the car there they were saying I need a couple of inches of piping fabbed to make the roush h pipe fit? Is 2021 any different that 18-20? Or are they just trying to hustle a few more bucks lol

Maybe not the best answer: I believe it should fit fine if its a cut and clamp. I recently installed a corsa h pipe that was cut and clamp….i know different brand….but it was listed to only work on 2020 and older yet it still worked on my 2021 GT

Sounds to me that they either cut too much of your stock exhaust off (if they already have the car) or that they are trying to pull one over on you. On a lift, it's barely a 15 minute job with a sawzall and a cordless impact. Measure twice, cut once, clamp, done. Less easy/comfortable on jack stands, but still doable. Plus, the tools are useful for so many other projects.
true, thanks for the insight I’ll just do it myself lol

There you go; good call. If you’re looking for a really good tool to make clean and precise cuts, get yourself a ratchet exhaust cutting tool. I bought mine from Eastwood when I did my x-pipe install. I used a cutoff wheel to separate the suitcase from the exhaust pipes first and then used the ratchet

cutting tool. Check out the clean cuts.

That doesn't sound right to me, but I don't know if the resonator on a 21MY is different than 18-20.

Looks like you've already said you'll do the job yourself. I agree that's the way to go. It's not that difficult if you're careful with your measurements.

Another thing to consider is getting beefier sleeves than what comes with. I don't know about the Roush, but some kits don't include the best clamps. Alternatively, a few tack welds will do the job.
I agree with this ^^^. The supplied h or x-pipe clamps are very thin and just look flimsy. I bought some heavy duty clamps from Amazon.

Oh no, two completely opposed opinions, and we're not even out of the first page!

Sounds like Roush might have put together a better kit.
Egads! I hope we can disagree and remain civil :)

Here's a pic of a clamp that came with the Roush H-pipe. As I said, I didn't have any problems with them, YMMV

Here, you can see the HD clamps are on the rear of the x-pipe which is now ready to be mated to to the rest of the exhaust.

That's the "Belt AND Suspenders" equivalent of heavy duty clamps right there  I'm sure they work great :like:

I would hazard a guess that the roush is the ‘older’ length of H pipe (a bit longer) so when the later cars came along with the heat shields welded to the pipes, the cut area is through the heat shield.

Garage moves cut due to heat shield = H pipe a bit short ?

I know Steeda did a ‘newer’ H pipe (a bit shorter) so you can cut before the heat shield therefore leaving them in place.
