I recently purchased a 2019 Mustang GT. The first time I locked the car, the beep from the horn sounded like a cheap econo box from the 90's. Having previously owned a 16 EB it did not sound correct. My EB had one of the 2 horns go out during warranty which was the sound the 19 made. Thinking i got a bad horn from the factory I did some research to find that 2019 mustangs (Built after 5/18) come with a single tone horn. This is frustrating for a $50,000 car!

Ford announced a "service replacement" part to change out your single tone for the correct dual tone horn.
Part # KR3Z-13832A (wrong part) I ordered one (begrudgingly) from Ford for around $25. It arrived today, it’s the incorrect part, still a single tone despite being labeled a dual tone.

The CORRECT PART is JR3Z-13832-A

This is an unfortunate cost save that really takes away from the car.

If your horn on your 19 mustang is weak, you may have the single tone. This has been noted on Bullet cars as well on this forum, but did not pop up easily when searched in google.

Does this Ford article mean they will replace my '19's weak horn? Or are they just noting that they is a change available for the future if it ever went bad?

Basically they are saying, the car came with a single tone and if you are disappointed by that, you can change to the new part at your own expense.

They won’t replace a failed horn with a dual nor will they replace a working single with a dual.

It’s unfortunate as it’s downright embarrassing to lock your brand new car. Just sounds cheap.

For those who don't want to hear the horn or weak beep, I think FORSCAN will allow you to disable the horn...at least it did for my F350 SD.

Honestly the only thing that really bothers me about my 19.

I honestly thought it was broke the first time I hit the horn and when I checked I actually thought they messed up at the factory and didn't add the second horn. Thanks to this forum I discovered a month or so back that they changed it to a single horn.

I will end up replacing it.

Just updated the post, received the part from ford today and it’s incorrect. Still trying to figure out the correct PN.

The weak-assed horn was the very first mod I made to the Bullitt. Order the dual-tone horn from Ford and 30 mins for the dealer install.

As far as I know, you have to order the dual-horn assembly, not just a single, additional horn.

JR3Z-13832-A is supposed to be the whole assembly.

Can someone confirm this?
