  2. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

2019 GT Manual PP1 I have posted many times on this topic and while I have come to terms with the noise, I still maintain my interest in this topic. I finally went and did an oil analysis. Have owned the car since new, approaching 40k miles. Oil changes done every 5k using motocraft 5w30...
  3. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

What tuner / tuning suite are you using?
  4. Question About Traction Control

many of the no tune required CAI’s have inserts that neck it down to factory diameter so the sensor reads right. If the diameter around the sensor is larger than stock it would need a tune or the insert put in.
  5. Question About Traction Control

checked my OBD2 dongle (bluedriver) thinking maybe it would be a data pid, no luck.
  6. Question About Traction Control

can always drop the stock air box in and see if the issue goes away.
  7. Question About Traction Control

a thought, being mass airflow cars, was the K&N CAI a “no tune required”? If not, the larger CAI will slow down the air velocity, the sensor will read low and the car will bog without a tune update. if it’s a no tune required, make sure the mass airflow sensor is installed and connected...
  8. 2018 GT low rpm engine rattle, cylinder damage pics, Ford buyback process

Yours sounds much better than most related to the 2k rattle.
  9. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

By no means did I mean to offend you. Please take a minute to review my previous posts. I have given data driven responses, some of which had flawed logic that I agreed was incorrect. Subsequent tests were done, results posted and other theories questioned and discussed. I did post evidence...

  14. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

Unfortunately given the relatively new platform and the plasma arc cylinder liners, it could be difficult to define what piston slap should sound like based on history of engines past. All we can do at this point is consider the collective information of the last 19 pages and make our own...
  15. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

Hate to admit it but I didn’t take the k brace off so I only looked at 1,2 and 5/6. Maybe someday I will look but I see it as a moot point for the next 50k or so miles. If it gets worse maybe sooner but seems consistent so far.
  16. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

correct, tried long ago with no link to 2k noise. Vac line on and off, actuator on and off.
  17. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

When listening to it, I could hear the usual direct injection noise, fast ringing metallic noise. The sound level varied between each area but was the same sound. Recreating the rattle resulted in no noticeable change in the DI system. The system increased frequency with RPMs but did not...
  18. I DON'T have the tick but I have the 2K Rattle

I did hook up the stethoscope to the HPFP inlet and outlet of the pump, as well as a high pressure rail and injector. No difference in sound relative to the 2k rattle.
