I see there is an option to add (for 500 bucks) when you configure a new GT350 the carbon fiber dash... Is that real CF or just a layer of imitating plastic. Anyone has it and can tell?
I dig it and might buy it if I can find it for 500 bucks.

Thanks

Real carbon, but I don't think it's prepreg. The individual part cost is considerably more than $500 though.

I love how options cost less than buying the part. Same with the GT active exhaust. New, $900, buy it from Parts, $2000.

Try the math on the R’s Carbon wing and wheels...(hint it’s about $40k to order the parts).

What the hell, Ford.
They don’t want base 350s being converted to Rs, which keeps the R more rare and elusive. Makes sense to some degree.

Also, I find dealer price quotes on these items to vary wildly, by 100% often.

Make sense for the 350 and the R, but other parts are kind of weird and overpriced (in my opinion).

When going on a new car, they are charging you an upgrade, not for a replacement part.

So the 900 charge factors in the difference between the part you are not getting and the upgraded part.

What I find annoying is when Ford charges $0 for an item delete instead of reducing the price. (See spoiler delete options)
