Seems like an issue with the airbag inside the dash.

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then reconnect. If the code is still there, use a odb2 code scanner to clear the DTC error.

If that doesn't work, find which fuse controls that airbag. You may need a new fuse.

If the fuse is fine and the error won't clear, you need to disconnect battery and troubleshoot the airbag plug (sometimes just unplugging and plugging connectors back in works). Also look for pinched wires.

If that still doesn't work, you may need a new airbag.

I haven't worked with the knee airbag, so hopefully you wouldn't need to pull the dash. Search YouTube....

This has happened to some owners before, and at least for a few it turned out to be a loose connector. Use your phone's camera to look up behind the dash on the driver's side and spot any connectors. Then reach in there and make sure they're all tight. Some folks actually heard/felt a click and the intermittent warning went away.

Loose connector or damaged wiring was my first thought. Is the car kept outside, rodents are insidious little buggers.

But please, please, please don't play with the airbag connectors without first disconnecting the negative battery terminal!
