Any feedback will be appreciated. I just got the airbag light illuminate on my dash randomly. DTC throwing B1417: 93 - 8B code in the RCM module. I didn't add any parts to it nor removed the front bumper. Its a 2018 GT manual with 23k miles.

RCM DTC B1417:93-8B===
Code: B1417 - Passenger Frontal Restraints Sensor

Additional Fault Symptom:
- No Operation

That sounds like the front seat sensor to me. The front (bumper) sensors are not driver or passenger specific as far as I know. Did you pour water on the seat, or some other liquid? That could be the culprit. But first make sure what that code is; maybe an expert here can confirm my suspicion. Those stupid sensors used to fail left and right, but have been more reliable lately. It should be easy to change it, but the unfortunate reality is the seat cover never looks like factory again. And even if you get a new seat (like I did some time ago), the damn leather wasn't remotely the same, so that fix backfired. Car looked like crap, so I just traded it, since my wife wasn't very happy with it anyway. But I mentioned that so you realize it might be better to keep your original seat cover, even if not perfect, than demanding a new seat. Good luck brother, and keep us posted.

I did get it cleaned after I bought it last month. It has cloth seats so the guy used a professional carpet cleaner to clean the front seats. Its under warranty. Shall I take it in or try to unplug and plug all the sensors back?

If he used a hot water extractor like for home carpets that's probably the reason. Those spit out tons of really hot water and may have damaged the sensor. If it was a steam machine, I don't see that being the cause. We use them on cars everyday at the detail shop I work at, without issue. We only use the hot water extractor on large areas of carpet. It couldn't hurt to unplug them and see if it goes away. If not, then bring it to the dealer. I wouldn't mention the seat being cleaned though...just my opinion. I don't like being too honest with dealers. Good luck!

thank you sir. Can you please confirm those are indeed the front seat sensors and not the front (bumper) sensors? I am sure it wasn't there when I bought it but after a couple days (after cleaning) it started showing up!
