Been quite a rough patch after purchasing headers from speed engineering. Not only did they arrive missing the bolts I need, the gasket I ordered was bent, and come to find out id have serious fitment issues on my gen 3 2019 and speed engineering tries to blame my motor mounts and anything but their awful build quality. I paid to have these installed ($$$$ cause yay Washington prices) and the shop refused to dimple the headers and just installed them without modification so now here I am trying to fix things late at night after work with little time to be messing with it.

My headers rub in 3 spots:
- Drivers side on the steering shaft
- Drivers side slightly in the engine bay
- Passenger side on AC lines

There is a small bracket that came with the headers is this for the AC lines? Was thinking of getting a slimmer drive shaft to fix the Drivers side? Can I blow torch these while installed and hammer them down a bit?

Appreciate any response/help.

The best way to do that would be to mark them off with a Sharpie where they need to be dimpled, remove them, heat them red hot and use a socket on a long extension (to keep from getting burned), against the areas that needs dimpling and tighten them in a vice to dimple them for a clean look. If you leave them as is, you will probably wear through the primaries eventually.

Nothing more expensive than a cheap set of headers, unfortunately. I know that’s not a lot of help right now but will hopefully warn someone who reads this thread down the road.

Agree with @NGOT8R on process to “clearance” the headers you have.

Deep down I know y'all are right. I just dont have the time and all the tools to uninstall and reinstall.

I bought a 2m fabrication ultra clearance driveshaft so hoping that resolves the one issue, hoping I can fix these other issues without having to buy all the shit to do a full uninstall and reinstall. But looking like I can't, fuck this sucks.

If you’re mechanically inclined, you can do it on tall jack stands (about 21” high). Not really any special tools needed, just sockets, ratchets, ratcheting wrenches and extensions.

I was in the exact same spot as you when I installed mine. I had to pull them and have a new set made. I didn’t want to do it, but I couldn’t even connect my steering shaft, so I had no choice. I urge you to reconsider and do it the right way, so that you don’t add even more aggravation to the mix. See the issues I faced in my install here in this thread.
