I am looking for advice about Speed Engineering headers from people who have run them or are running them now. Looking to make my car louder on a budget. Are they decent quality? I've seen good things and bad things. I would be running it with stock active mufflers and a Roush X-pipe res delete. I could justify the money for speed engineering right now but not super expensive ones for a decent while. Any advice/help would be appreciated.

When I talked to a tuner, I was told that they are the best fitting and best performing headers for a C6 Vette. So I just had a set put on mine and the fit and finish and performance is awesome. But as said this is for my C6 vette. None on the Mustang yet.

I'll have them on my car for 3 years now in August and I have no complains about them. My installer said that the fit is spot on. The only complaints he had were more to do with the PITA to install headers on a 5.0. After a while I found out they are rubbing on the steering shaft but only when I am going over 55mph on a curvy road. Other than that, I have no complaints. Make sure to get OEM exhaust gaskets as the ones included aren't very good.

They're good, just get OEM header gaskets and check the welds before installation. Also it is gonna be crazy loud with the roush mufflers, I have heard the exact setup you have. Definitely the loudest N/A mustang I have heard.

I still will have the active exhaust mufflers, the stock ones. I already ordered a Roush X-pipe resonator delete, so it will be Speed Engineering headers to a Roush X-pipe with stock active mufflers. Is that what you meant? I know it will still be loud as shit, which is what I'm going for.

oh yea my bad, I read roush mufflers. It is really tame to be honest. I have the same setup and only under WOT is it loud but it has a really good note in my opinion. Also you may have some issues running the roush x pipe and the x pipe from speed engineering as the speed engineering ones are made into the headers if that makes sense. You can see in the pics online.

Im planning to eventually get corsa extreme cat back with the valves but they are super expensive.

Same, when i had a Vortech put on my C7 i asked for Kooks based on name and he recommended Speed Engineering based on price and he's never had any complaints from his customers. These with stock C7 exhaust sounded great.

There's no such thing as easy header installations on a Mustang but for the price and quality, you can't beat Speed Engineering headers and 3" X-Pipe/exhaust pipes. Everyone is using 304 stainless steel and it really doesn't matter if it's USA sourced or China sourced. Ultimate used to use 321 stainless so if you're serious about any kind of quality header system or turbo plumbing running red hot, that's the alloy of choice. However, Ultimate reverted to 304 due to costs so I can't see the advantage of any particular header brand over another. I installed Speed Engineering Headers on my son's 2022 GT and they needed some very minor tubing flattening on the driver's side chassis rail and passenger's side bend at the A/C compressor. Installation was easy by removing all but one of the the flange studs to properly position the headers and then re-installing new OEM gaskets, studs, and lock nuts. The stud next to the A/C compressor isn't going anywhere unless you remove the A/C compressor. (Jockeying the engine on the motor mounts to optimize clearances, a lot of patience, a comprehensive assortment of swivel sockets, extensions, and wrenches will reach the OEM fasteners and even allow the use of a torque wrench. ) My son's catless system with Corsa Extreme active mufflers was obnoxiously loud, unless switched to Quiet mode. Corsa uses mig welds on their mufflers and we experienced crack issues at the inlet pipes and they took forever to replace them under warranty. In the meantime, we used straight pipes and it wasn't much different than the Extremes in any mode except Quiet mode. I can't wrap my head around the high cost of headers and cat-back systems so when you can get a set of Speed Engineering headers and 3" X-pipe/exhaust pipes under $1000 you can't beat the value. .

I just finished installing Speed headers and X-pipe. I must say that they fit very well. Only issue I had was the driver’s side motor mount top bolt clearance with the header. It took all about 1 minute to clearance. I have this paired with the X-Force valved exhaust axle back. It is like music to my ears. 100% recommend.

I bought them and upon arrival i had issues with some of the welds after inspecting them. I sent pictures to Speed engineering showing that one of welds @ the collector had a pin hole as well as a weld on the X pipe and you could see light through them. They kept giving me the run a around, not wanting to replace them saying it would not affect the performance etc. After what seemed like a month of going back and forth with them i just wanted to return them for a full refund they agreed for a return on them but wanting for me to pay for return shipping .I sent them this quote from there website

"We stand behind our Mustang Coyote longtube headers in saying you will not find a better fitting, quality built, budget header for your vehicle"

After that they sent me a prepaid return label , once I was refunded I bought a set of Stainless power headers. That was my experience with Speed engineering lol.

I have them on my 2018 GT Supercharged. I only bought them out of necessity (cats failed after boost). While this is subjective, to me they were EXTREMELY loud with my AWE Touring Catback. I put the stock exhaust back on, and it was much better. I did not do the install, but the shop that did mentioned the fitment was perfect on them.

I am supercharged as well. I did my first cold start this morning and with my valves closed it was very reasonable.
