So my other car is an 2014 Audi, and I looked at buying a new one with the new lighting. Quite frankly, with exception to the S8 and R8, I think they look terrible. Perhaps their function is superior, but, IMO, stylistically they are a huge step in the wrong direction. I much prefer the lights on my 2014 Audi, and I find the lights on my 2016 mustang preferable to those. It is just my opinion, but like you said, they are considerably more expensive. I guess ford could always offer them as an option, perhaps as part of the safety package. Either way, I wouldn'the pay extra for them unless they had superior styling to the HID, and in the case of the basis (Audi), that is not the case.

In essence, I think Ford would be wasting their time and money pursuing this on buyers like me.
I agree. I think most of the new Audi lights are hideous too. And Ford's adaptation to LED hasn't been stellar in their other products. I had a 2016 Explorer Platinum with them for a week and everybody was asking why there were halogen lamps in a 60k SUV. They do look like halogens with the lack of a projector or fancy lens.

The new '17 Fusion basically has the "matrix" LED DRLs. I hope they don't change too much with the Mustang's lighting because I think it looks fantastic as is.

That's probably exactly what we're getting...whatever the Fusion has we'll get a similar lighting style/set up...but with more of a Mustang look.

If you mean LED Matrix when referencing Audi, I do think LED Matrix would be way too expensive for a Mustang.

Just regular LEDs you find on any cars these days, but would be welcome. My experience with LED though is that they are rather weak compared to HID, the added benefit is that you often have automatic high beam which works well with LED but since they are weaker those high beams are needed in most situations.

Wonder if they have LED what they'll do with the price, price of LED is often bloated because many cars still have halogen and HID as options, so LED is often an extra step up over HID while HID is already a step up over halogen.
Don't mean the Matrix set-up but more of what they were doing with their DRL's and just better looking lighting set-ups.

Hopefully it's an option like it is on the Audis.

Agree with Spartan.
Mentioned this a while back - I think the front fascia restyle will sharpen up some of the design language...similar to how the Fusion front end was updated for 2017
It will still be aggressive, but more refined...and still look like a Mustang.

Agreed. Throw in the GT350 front look with a more hardened appearance/updated lights and you'll have a nice front it...wouldn't be surprised to see hood lowered by an 1" like the GT350 and maybe the bulge lowered some and made less pronounced.

Harder lines vs the soft curves prob likely on the light shape/outline

Im a fan of the upgraded harman sound system. I always liked the system in the bmw. The shaker is lacking imo.

Yikes, what a terrible interview. Nothing of any substance was said (or really asked). Unless I missed something.

Is the Mustang a sports car or muscle car?
It's both.

What are you doing to stop the Cars and Coffee phenomenon.
Was unaware of C&C, no serious answer to stupid question #2.

Favorite car?
His 86 Mustang and 65 TBird Vert in his garage.

Car he lusts after?
1970 Grabber Green Boss 302.

What's next for the Mustang?
To carry on the excitement of the brand. To remain relevant and affordable.

C&C crashes is all the Mustang haters have left now that Mustangs have an IRS and there is a hot looking Fusion Sport out there making Mustang resemblance a good thing.

Yeah 86 Mustangs. Mine has 274K miles and I will never give it up, despite my nagging grandsons.

LOL, foxbody or nobody! I have a 92GT that I've had for 18 years and put 225k miles or so on before it became a project. I'll never sell mine either. If they outlaw gas I'll throw an electric motor in it before I sell it.

At least you guys have C&C meets. There aren't really any near me.

Am I missing something? Why would anyone want to stop Cars & Coffee meets?

Cruise Nights and C&Cs meets are hugely popular by both the auto hobby community as well as the general public.

I'd say they are referring to the crowd hunting Mustangs only.

What do you guys suppose the odds are of a GT350 style hood? I think it looks 10x better than the current/standard Mustang piece.

I'm just not sure how the V6/Ecoboost cars would be changed since that big heat extractor is probably overkill for the tamer models.

Cars & Coffee CRASHING phenomenon. Meaning Mustang guys going to show off in their cars AND not knowing how to drive AND crashing them in front of an audience.
