I have a 2020 GT paired with a mt82-d4. According to calculations, my 3.55 gear ratio is like 3.01 gears on a previous gen mt82. This is way too lazy and long for me. I was thinking of going with the 4.09 or 4.56 gears. The d4 4.09 gears is like the previous gen 3.55's and the 4.56 is similar to the 3.73 prevous gen gears. With my current 500whp , 4.56 gears should be great. Also, im about to install nitrous with 100 - 150 shot. I should be sitting around 600 - 650whp with spray.

Does anyone have recommendations on a perfect gear for both n/a and nitrous applications for the mt82 d4?

The 4.56 would probably be great for NA in the 1/4, but maybe too much with nitrous. I’d try running nitrous with your 3.55 gear first. If you don’t like the results, I’d look to see what a 3.73 or 4.09 might do for you on nitrous while allowing you to trap in 4th gear.

This will depend on your trap Mph. Both 4.56 and 4.09 will trap in 4th up to 136 if your rev limiter is set to 8000.

I had a 2018 with 4.09’s and would not have wanted 4.56’s but that’s just me. I didn’t use first gear all the time after the swap.

If it is mostly a street car with occasional track use I'd go 4.09 80 @ 2500 is fine for long trips.

4.56 if I just want a fun car.

I will mostly do pulls on the street so I want a very good 60 - 130 time. This is also my daily.

See how the 3.55 gear treat you with boost since the gearing of the transmission is good towards boost.

If its your daily.. try the sniff on its own 1st..

The 4.09 will help the D4's,
"mpg terrorists" ratios
forced upon us by the peanut farmer mandates long ago.

Been looking at this option myself. The 4.56 is tempting
