2018 intake manifold on 2016

I have a 2016 GT 6m with the FPP stage 2 tune (very happy with the results btw) . 55k miles . Started getting random ck engine light -00 random and 08 misfire codes. Replaced the coil and plug . Didnt help. Moved coil and plug to different cylinders and it still sets the random and 08 cylinder misfire codes so I am fairly sure its the dreaded IMRC . Can't find a replacement Gen 2 intake . The car is a daily so here is the question-can I swap the 2018 intake and drive a few days till i can get a proper tune ? I'll be pulling the intake tomorrow to find out if it is indeed broken. Thanks.

You might be able to drive it without the proper tune might run bad call your tuner and he should be able to send you a Basic tune

Up until 7500rpm the GT350 and the 2018+ manifold make pretty much the same power. If you want to go beyond 7500rpm one day I would go with the GT350. They cost about the same and its what I would go with.

I ordered the GT350 intake and a bama tuner from AM. It supports the intake conversion. I appreciate all the input and help y’all .

I ordered the GT350 intake and a bama tuner from AM. It supports the intake conversion. I appreciate all the input and help y’all .

I would rethink the Baba tune.

The GT350 intake manifold will work perfectly with your FRPP2 tune.

The FRPP2 will be a bit short on the max rev limit vs. FRPP3. Not a show stopper but it is leaving power on the table. The GT350 manifold power curve remains amazingly flat well past its peak.

Rev limit for MT82 cars with PP2 is 7150. Rev limit for MT82 cars with PP3 is 7450.

Personally even FRPP3 7450 limit can be pushed out to 7800-8000 to take full advantage of the GT350 manifolds fat power band.

The mani comes with the 2018 TB that I wont be using. Anyone know what this can be sold for? Anyone on here needing it?

Cancel that order and go with the GT350 manifold and your 80mm TB with the VMP adapter.

😆 nah bro already discussed with my Tuner. I've seen plenty of vids on this and the other not so cost effective opt was a ported 2018. I got this Mani brand new with the TB for $300 cant beat this.. Besides, I wont be pushing no 8k rpms... I take donations though 😉

I was focused on functional IMRC on a Centri not 8000 rpm’s.

You can also buy the HP tuners mpvi and flash the oem frpp3 tune. That's what I did.
