Has anyone compared 2018 intake manifold to GT350 intake manifold (both on a 2018)?

I have seen the data for other tested combinations but not this one. I am wondering what performance difference there would be if I switched to a GT350 manifold.

Thanks,
Jerome

If the Bullitt is any indication, it appears that the GT350 intake manifold + TB + tuning is good for 15 HP on a 2018 5.0. I don't believe anyone has actually made that swap yet though.

Let's say you do get 15HP.

That's spending $600+ for the manifold, $300+ for a tune, and $200+ probably for somebody's CAI if you choose to get one.

For 15 hp.

Whoopty doo.

Enjoy the 2018's significantly superior power output as-is.

Where along the rpm range would/is the 15hp increase seen? Above 7000rpm perhaps?

I would be interested in seeing dyno curves once available.

I think it's a bit too early to tell a definite result...give the tuners some time.

Judging by intake volume GT350 mani should perform about 10% better.
It would likely help with boosted applications more.

For now the Bullitt is listed with "at least" 475hp. I don't expect it to be rated more than what when final numbers are given, but there is a reason they said "at least 475" and not just say 475. Let's say 5HP from Manifold, 5HP from TB/Intake tube, and 5HP from Tune.

That's pretty conservative sounding. For a comparison (though not equal) JLT intake alone on Evolutions car made 13whp. That alone is almost 15 crank.

Cobra Jet is still the way and probably worth around 30 whp over the 18 manifold if not a little more. Lund said the throttle eletronics on 11-14 cars, 15-17 cars and 18+ cars are different and they need R&D time to try to get an 11-14 throttle working so people can start swapping cobra jets on with monoblades.

On a 2015 engine the CJ only peaks 16whp/6wtq over the GT350. Over average the CJ had an average of 4hp more and 5TQ more

Biggest change was the peak tq came on 700RPM sooner on the CJ and HP was 100rpm sooner on the GT350

CJ>GT350>18 IM

Only reason to use a 18 over the other 2 is cost. Other 2 will out perform the 18 IM.

Is the 18 a bad IM? Not at all its better than the 15-17 IM.

If you want max hp out of an IM it cant beat the other 2.

You can't compare aftermarket tune to an EPA certified calibration for gains.

Hence why I said not equal. I'm interested in how they avoided losing TQ when the 15-18 all lose about 10+lbs when they moved to the GT350 mani/TB/Intake even after tuning.

and application.

Would be great if the CJ and/or GT350 IM will provide an increase in peak HP provided two things. One is that this is not only above 7000rpm. The other not being at the expense of loss hp/tq below 7000rpm.

Perhaps wishful thinking. Looking forward to seeing dyno curves once people have tested them out.

There is no one size fits all lucky for us there are plenty options. Pick where you want the power and run the IM desired.
