Same here. Went almost 140mph at COTA and it didn't flutter at all. No hood pins, factory equipment.

I disagree with the HVAC grate comment, I think it looks good and not a redneck garage special. Only thing I wish track spec would do is make a small set of louvers to replace the stock pieces.
Well ...who knows :)

I gone over 150 in the 19 GT stock hood ..no issues ..now with the 15 ..it did flutter ..I recently just recently hollowed out all the honeycomb on the stock GT grill..we'll see how it affects the hood now.

I just picked up the air designs from Ford. I am really debating having them painted magnetic to match the paint before I install them, but I have black accents on the car so I think that makes more sense. Anyone have any suggestions prior to me installing these this weekend?

This is a weird question but does anyone make a cover that goes in place of the vents so it looks like a hood without vents? If that makes sense

Thanks! Looks great. I think I am going to stick with black. I can always change it later if I don't like it but based on your car I do.

Kudos for attempting that job. I would never cut a section of my hood out of my Mustang. That said, I realize looks are subjective and to each his own and all that, but I can't help but think it looks like a homemade job. I mean, it looks straight and installed properly, but I personally don't dig it. It looks like an HVAC grille tacked on there. Anyway, if you like it, good on you for taking this on.

That said, I've never noticed the hood shaking on my '18 GT even at 80+ mph. I thought that was more of a 15-17 issue? Are the 15-17 hood vents functional?
When I had the stock front with the stock grill, it didnt flutter. When I went to the bullit grill and Steeda front, the change in front air movement made the hood flutter and at 172 at a half mile event, I thought the hood was going to open, plus the front steering got lighter above 150. Now, it feels really stable and the the hood only moves from our shitty roads and not air being trapped.
In person, the extractor looks better. I am glad I did it

Now I am having second doubts. I have the vents in black but when I mocked them up on the car I thought they stood out a little to much. There is virtually no photos of anyone who has body coloured air design vents. I may just pay and run the risk but I hate to waste any money.

Anyone have an opinion on if the black sticks out to much or if the body coloured is going to look stupid?

I have the gloss black on mine.. matches the black accent package nicely.

I gave it a lot of thought recently. I think for brighter color cars, Competition Orange, Race Red, Lightning the black hood vents make a lot of sense but magnetic being so dark I don't think the contrast works quite as well. Elvis I take your opinion very seriously as you have one of my favorite cars to look at on the forum. So hoping for some good insight.

Do you have any other gloss black items on your exterior of your car..or just upper grill ? paint matched magnetic would look awesome on your car with a little bit of black that's going on with the inserts in those grills.. but they won't be an easy task painting those hood vents. One of the grill inserts on hood vents is not real and would have to be separated from the vents before painting.

So I have gloss black wheels, and my spoiler is gloss black. Beyond that there is black window tint and the emblems are black. I had considered painting the spoiler to match the car if it looked out of place with the body matched vents.

The hood vents are at a body shop right now since I knew I was going to screw it up and the vents were not removable.

I tend to agree with you that body matched is the way to go, but my circle of friends is split on what they think.

Could I see a few pictures of the front of your car?

Sure. Slightly outdated but should work.

Honestly they will both look nice..gloss black or paint matched.. but I'm thinking with the gloss black grill, gloss wheels and the black spoiler it would have been a better contrast .
