Completely irrelevant. The GT350 is much more special than the GT500 simply because it only came back for a 50year anniversary. In contrast, the 500 came out 10 years ago, went away for a few, came back out, etc.

Don't believe that the GT350 will extend beyond the 17' model year, as it was only made during 1965-1967. I believe it will mirror the same 3 year production run from 2015-2017 for historical value.

The GT500 and potentially a Mach1 will fill in the gap for the GT350 when it's gone.
The GT500 debuted in the 2007 MY and ran through the 2014 MY. 7 years of uninterrupted production.

2017 may be the final year of GT350 production, but I'd honestly be surprised if it is. Ford is selling every one they make and the market is clamoring for more. IIRC, for the Boss 302 Ford said at the start it was a 2 year run. They've never said anything like that for the GT350 AFAIK. I'd like to see Ford make them for a few more years.

It has always been GT, GT350, GT500. That won't change for a long, long time.
Except for all the Cobras, the Mach 1, the Bullitt and the Bosses.

In any case, bookmarked for later disproval.

Speaking of values.... holy krap.

I know these are a GREAT buy now. . . and seriously, they will continue to DROP.
Sucks for the guys at the front who paid MSRP or more - and now they can't even sell their used one for what you can get a new one for. The cheapest I've seen on dealer lots was 51-53K Brand spanking new. :ninja:

You can always add equal length headers to the 2015-2017 if you don't have emissions in your state (I don't). But quite frankly, if the exhaust note doesn't sound as good after installing the headers, I'd rather just keep it stock and find HP somewhere else. :)
I challenge your opinion on the sound of stock headers vs long tube headers. And installing equal length long or even short tube headers in this engine compartment? Lmao. Gooooood luck.

I believe many are falling on the "Voodoo for only 3 years" and that is somewhat true.

The Voodoo as we know it will adopt another, or original program name.

The unequal length headers was apparently part of the magic that made a Voodoo emissions friendly. Once the Voodoo adopts PDI and equal length headers, it will inherit its own program name.

Ford's GT350, Porsche's GT4, BMW M4 GTS are headed to IMSA GT4 in 2018. Ford has a monopoly on the V8, they won't likely abandon it now.

It has always been GT, GT350, GT500. That won't change for a long, long time.

How many models of the GT350 did Ford make?

If I were marketing manager for ford, id dump it after three and let the hype build. Then I'd release another throwback. Let that create even more exclusivity. And then do it again.

In the long run, these are limited run cars. They are not changing fords bottom line at all.

However, building the brand and mystique even further most definitely will.

This sounds like an awesome thing, but Ford is a manufacturer and they are in this to build cars and make money. The past tells us they re-use and recycle things to maximize profit by pulling things from the cobra line (or whatever) and putting it elsewhere to maximize profit. I don't think we are at the end of the FPC by any stretch.

But I hope you're right and they do end it and create exclusivity!!

Many here are missing the point, perhaps they haven't been reading that long.

The S550 has always intended to streamline product. thePill reported pretty early on, it would be GT>GT350>GT500. Ford fought for a long, long time to reunite the GT350 with the Mustang lineup.

Regardless, there is an output bump for the GT350 coming in 2017. The GT is getting a power bump as well.

The GT350 will be in production for the remained of the S550/S650 cycle.

Sorry Camaro fans :(

My mistake, I thought the 500 wasn't in production in 09-10. Point still stands though, they never kept the GT500 away until it's 50th, automatically making the GT350 a more special car. When the car was first being launched they said it would mirror the production run of the Boss 302.

Sure they are selling everyone they make, but they are also selling 5.0's like hot cakes too. Makes 0 sense financially to continue to build them. As others have stated, limited supply keeps demand and desire high, it drives people into the dealerships hoping to get one, and when they can't, they end up in a 5.0 or perhaps the next Mach1/Bullitt/GT500, etc that is available at the time. It keeps value high, which increases consumer satisfaction, especially for a specialty product like this is. Which in return often leads to repeat business.

If the only reason for people to say that they will continue production just because they can sell everyone they make, it's a weak argument IMO. The sales of the 5.0 alone crush those of the 350, not to mention the rest of their fleet and the F150, etc. The 350 sales are largely insignificant and have zero impact on Fords finances, the car is simply there to create desire for the brand and build brand reputation.

For these reasons I sincerely doubt they will go ahead and continue the 350 production, as it makes no sense to upset the 50year anniversary only build years for the sake of a few sales that only accounts for a drop in a bucket in the grand scheme of things.

Or you could look at it the opposite way. They quit using it for some reliability issue. Or they keep using it because it's so damn awesome. :D

With how many issues this car has and will have within the warranty period, id stop making them right now if i was ford. I still love it, but can see how its been a money pit of a car. It's also helped the brand in many ways. We should know by first quarter next year

That is not what someone on another forum with pretty intimate knowledge of the program said. Yes equal length headers were tested, but they said they were a packaging nightmare. They also these equal length shorties result in a more traditional FPC sound
Yeah... I am just hearing this now as well.

Unequal length headers were a "band-aid" in order to get the Voodoo to pass emissions.

Equal length headers are coming (not Full Length Headers) and the 5.2 was originally designed with them. Direct or Port/Direct is needed to pass emissions with flying colors.

Hence the name: Voodoo.

Confirmed today, ALL Mustang's will get a power increase in 2018.

Only a few of those issues were about the engine. Most issues are over Fit and Finnish. Which can be found across all S550s
