Why can't you compare a gt350 to a zl1? They are close to the same price.

The ZL1 is out now and on the showroom floor near me. 64k, no adm.
Buy it! Maybe Fords ZL1 slayer will cost 75k and bring an adm with. Adm because people actually want them. Zl1...not so much.

Seriously?
Would you compare a GT to an ecoboost?
The GT350 stickers for $56770. That's $8000.00 less. Than a ZL1.
People compare the GT and ecoboost all the time. Are you saying you can't compare NA to FI? People do that all the time too, all motor GT vs blown GT.

ZL1 base is 61k. You're talking 4k difference in base vs base. Most gt350's on the lot are 61k. The ZL1 on the lot is 64k. That's 3k difference. Then when you add an adm, you can't hardly get a gt350 for the price of the ZL1.

I've thought about getting the ZL1 but if the 2018 GT has magride, active exhaust, 10 to 15hp more and an available Power pack 3, i'd go 2018 GT and put the savings into a real investment.

As I understand it, the ZL1 doesn't have an ADM becuase there isn't a dealer allocation. You can go to any dealer and order a ZL1. Ford could have done away with the allocation for gt350's and there wouldn't be an adm and it would still be a limited car because not everyone can afford a 60k sports car. People that can afford a 60k sports car can probably afford a 70k sports car so I'd wager the ADM's didn't keep the car that much more exclusive, they just gouged the loyal customer base.

Look you're the one who said $64. The 2017 GT350 base is the same as the 2016 track pack like I have. So that's a 8k difference. Don't throw ADM into the picture. We're talking sticker prices. If you Don't think GM dealers are going to throw on a ADM guess again. And yes you can find a gt350 at sticker if you look hard enough. But besides all of the cost talk, they are not comparable. You throwing a GT NA vs GT aftermarket add on blower is complete stupid bull shit talk. If I throw a Whipple on my GT350 than we can compare it to a ZL1. In which the ZL1 doesn't stand a chance. The ZL1 is less than 3 seconds quicker and has 124 more hp. Not impressive to me at all.
No fool buys a car as an investment.

The adm's are very relavant because if I go to the ford dealer, I pay it and the gt350 near me is 71k. If I go to the chevy dealer that has the ZL1, I don't pay it and the ZL1 is 64k. The no ADM ZL1 near me has been confirmed. Real existing car to real existing car, the ZL1 I can get today is 7k less than the gt350 that I can get today. That's the comparison that I'm making.

I'm not making the full bolt on GT NA vs GT blower comparison. I was just saying that people do all the time just like they make the eco boost vs gt comparison. Anybody can compare whatever they want.

I typically compare cars that are in a similar price bracket and see how much bang for the buck I can get. Sometimes, this pits an NA car vs a FI car.

I also wasn't saying that cars are an investment. I was just saying that if I get a car that is 20 to 30k less, I'll have 20 to 30k to put into something that really is an investment.

I just don't by into the talk about Ford discontinuing the GT350 after the 2017 model year. With demand so very high for the GT350, why stop production ? Ford puts its engines thru the most extreme torture tests before they are put into production. I highly doubt the VOODOO engine suffers from durability issues due to vibration.

1- Because Ford told perspective buyers it would be a short 2 year run.
2- The GT500 would still be in high demand
3- I love the Voodoo engine but why did they put in a cast OPG gear in? I'm not so sure I buy the durability comment
4- Ford assured potential owners that the Voodoo would NOT be used in any other car

Short run of 2015 cars makes it a 3 year run.

No announcement of a GT500 as of yet.

VOODOO engine builder confirmed on FB that the engine would be produced until 2020.
I am one of the folks that hope the GT350 goes through 2020 as that is the only way that I will be able to get one. I completely understand that some of those who currently own one would like the car to be exclusive. I however want the car and Ford to be successful in the showroom and on the track. Even if the GT350 kept production numbers the same for the next 3 years but changed the packages, added an auto trans and more HP all you early adopters would still be able to brag about your purchase while still allowing other Ford Mustang enthusiasts the chance to own a great car.

Yes, there were '67, '68, & '69 GT350s & GT500s. The '69 models continued to be sold in '70.

My vote would be for both in 2018, but this option doesn't exist on the poll. My guess is we'll see GT350s being carried over from '17 into the '18MY, with the new GT500 being introduced later in the year.
to be exact and factual, the only Shelby GT350's were 65-67. 68-69(70) where Shelby Cobra GT350's

I know people are optimistic but Has Ford ever released a GT500 & GT350 in same generation?

I highly doubt a GT500 for Gen 6
Some consider the 2007 and 2008 Shelby GT 's to be a GT350.

I have a pretty strong feeling we'll see a 2018 GT350, and quite possible a small limited run of GT500's in the very late stages of 2017 production kind of like they did with the 2015 GT350. With it being 50 years since the original GT500 it would be hard for Ford to pass up on that for marketing.
