I'm not sure why this is important but, apparently equal length headers are eventually replacing the current headers. thePill was unaware that they were not equal... There is, was, an issue with emissions I guess.

That leads me to believe that Port Direct Injection is on the way for the 2018-2020 GT350. Could this be a 550hp/450tq version of the Voodoo?

I believe some of the S650 tricks will debut on the GT350, mostly the structural lightweighting the S550 never got.

IMSA's GT4 will be Championed by the GT350 as well as the Porsche GT4. The absolute best two vehicles to emerge from the GS class since 2005.

What makes you believe that there will be a 2018+ gt350?

At this point in time there is lots left in the car. Ford is doing well with them financially it seems. Why not extend the run?

Either that or the 2018 ford Performance Mustang GT4 (Gt350 updates and no Shelby royalties) will include additional enhancements. Same car but with the evolutionary changes enough to make it "newest, more track capable mustang ever!"

I believe many are falling on the "Voodoo for only 3 years" and that is somewhat true.

The Voodoo as we know it will adopt another, or original program name.

The unequal length headers was apparently part of the magic that made a Voodoo emissions friendly. Once the Voodoo adopts PDI and equal length headers, it will inherit its own program name.

Ford's GT350, Porsche's GT4, BMW M4 GTS are headed to IMSA GT4 in 2018. Ford has a monopoly on the V8, they won't likely abandon it now.

It has always been GT, GT350, GT500. That won't change for a long, long time.

Getting rid of the GT350 would be the equivalent of Corvette not doing a Z06. A GT350 took priority over a GT500 just as the Z06 over the ZR1.

I like to disassemble things.
Packaging an equal length header would be a nightmare from an OEM perspective. What makes you think this would in any way be a cost effective measure? And how does that grandiose assumption segue to DI?

Apparently the 5.2 was initially designed with equal length shorties but the engine wouldn't pass emissions.

Direct or Port Direct Injection is needed for it to pass. 25hp/20tq should be rather easy. The cost is shared with the Ford Racing Program as well as Ford Performance. It is difficult to really tell how expensive it is once these programs pick up the tab.

That is not what someone on another forum with pretty intimate knowledge of the program said. Yes equal length headers were tested, but they said they were a packaging nightmare. They also these equal length shorties result in a more traditional FPC sound

You can always add equal length headers to the 2015-2017 if you don't have emissions in your state (I don't). But quite frankly, if the exhaust note doesn't sound as good after installing the headers, I'd rather just keep it stock and find HP somewhere else. :)

The nastang87xx has received information from Henry Ford the 1st that the 2018 GT700 will have not one but TWO crankshafts in its flat plane crank engine with equal length headers controlling 16 cylinders and 10.4L of displacement with a 16,500 RPM redline.

Completely irrelevant. The GT350 is much more special than the GT500 simply because it only came back for a 50year anniversary. In contrast, the 500 came out 10 years ago, went away for a few, came back out, etc.

Don't believe that the GT350 will extend beyond the 17' model year, as it was only made during 1965-1967. I believe it will mirror the same 3 year production run from 2015-2017 for historical value.

The GT500 and potentially a Mach1 will fill in the gap for the GT350 when it's gone.

If this is in fact true, what makes the GT350 so special and worthy of all the ADMs? Including the R?

Would this next generation carry the same heavy price tag?

From a branding perspective, create value through scarcity.

Create hype through the inability to obtain and the desire to have.

Like the Porsche GT (i.e. GT4/3/2 & R/RS) cars formula.... ;)

Well, to be fair, they all seem to hold their value icredibly well.
