Hello folks. I am looking at purchasing 2018 GT 6 speed manual with 4,000 miles on the clock, looks mint, looks new. Hauls axx too when I step on it. I have been reading in these forums and elsewhere but what should I look for? Yes, it has a clean history and I put it on a rack, super clean, like new under, in, all over. It has PP1 with spoiler delete and the black 19 inch wheels.

Back in the late 80s I had a 1885.5 Mustang SVO. It was destroyed in a hail storm from Hell in 1991. So, I am looking to return the Mustang fold with this GT. What say y'all?

Thank you in advance.

I have that car (with spoiler). Get it and flog it like you're mad at it. You'll be glad you did.
Thank you. I plan to get the spoiler ASAP if I get the car. The issue is that a bad person ran two stop signs and decked me in my other brand new car, which was not a Mustang. So these things take time, may just have to buy it straight up.

the issue is how bad is the price.
So then, what would a GT with the 5.0 and PP1 with the 19 inch wheels, summer tires run new? today If I could buy a new one, if there were any new GTs to be had?

I do not want the PP2. I am old school and that seems to add a lot of electronic stuff I do not need.

The electronic stuff has more to do with trim levels, not pp1 vs pp2. Magneride suspension is an option on pp1 cars, so that one may or may not have it. Are you more adverse to the nannies like lane keep assist? Some of those can be turned off.

Is it a 401A car? Also, which sound system is in it? These will be two of the most significant factors in terms of price.

Working from sticker x o.85 x (0.9^yr) should be the upper bound to pay. In your case yr=2.

Check the manufactured date and see if the shift forks where replaced. Early 18’s had issues with these forks breaking.

What is 401A please?

The sound system is AM/FM single CD/MP3. The screen is the smaller screen (which I like). The MSRP was originally $40,385.

The equipment group is 300A.

As I said, I am not looking for the PP2 or the large screen system.

The stereo sounds fine to my hearing damaged ears (guns, jet engines, motorcycles, airplanes and resulting tinnitus, etc.).

CarFax does not show any realls about shift forks.

Help me understand please?

That is a similar build to the 2019 I purchased this spring. It is a base model with the 300a group but the upgraded pp1 package. I’m quite happy with the car. My only regrets are not having the heated/cooled seats and heated steering wheel for the colder days.

401A is the highest premium trim level. Yours is the 300A, which is the base level. There were some problems with shift forks breaking in the 2018 models.

PP1 and PP2 are free standing options and have nothing to do with any aspect of the car other than performance.

This car is as bare bones as you'll find and it sounds absolutely perfect for you based on your comments. I think it will make you really happy.

Buy it, put it in sport+ mode and go give it hell. Closely monitor rear tire wear. Enjoy.

the fanciest package gropu

I bought that exact config (albeit 2019) with a 40.4 MSRP for 36 new. Therefore a fair price for your car is 40.4 * 0.85 * (0.9^2) = 27.8k. Since it has only 4000 miles add another grand for 28.8k. I wouldn't pay more than 29k for it +tax+title.

The season for buying Mustangs is over. Cram the dealer's stupidity down his own throat.

If the dealer is asking stupid money buy this instead of sell off the wheels/tires.

You can get EB|GT PP1 wheels for cheap, or you can buy new Mach1 HP wheels for $1000. Wheels are a dime a dozen.
