I have read lots of the post here but can't find out if any one has changed program from the 160 speedo to 180 speedo or if it can be done
If any one has the answer please let me know

I think you have to buy the bullit cluster for 180mph but its a manual cluster.

The boost gauge can be added through forscan i have it on mine and the 220 speedo is from gt500 i heard of some guys changing it but idk how to i think you have to reflash the whole cluster but i dont know if this speedo will work for manuals

Sad to say it but no I don't
I had a VCM 2 I did some programming with on F-150
I build and sell diesel diagnostics laptops so I am sure that I could learn quickly. good with laptops and software

Its an off topic but I thought I’ll post it here as I dont want to open new thread about instrument cluster.

What is the metric speedometer part number for the gt350 as well the oil temp and pressure gauges part numbers as I want to swap them.

thanks

Any thoughts I whether this digital cluster might work on an S197? I expect that a computer board with two or three canbus would be needed to act as a bridge. HS and MS in the S197 and then the HS3 for the instrument cluster, and that this board would need to emulate the SCCM (convert steering buttons to canbus messages) and perhaps other canbus messages. The existing cluster would still be needed unless I could figure out how to deal with PATS (potentially a Fortin EVOall)

I guess the main question would be if the canbus messages the digital cluster expects are compatible with the S197. Anyone familiar with the canbus messages in the S550

It can be done with 1500 USD on labor and parts for a custom interface between the ECU and the cluster (+ the price of the cluster) and about 5 to 10 months of work unless you do it yourself and you know exactly what you are doing... and you would end up with a digital cluster that barely works and some functions will simply not work on the S197... at that point It would be better to swap your Gen 1 for a Gen 2 engine and then you can have a Digital cluster with driving modes at least but hey I have seen people done impossible stuff on here before do not let my words dis-encourage you :)

Thanks for the feedback. Yes I can do both hardware and software for a custom interface board. There's a lot of readily available cheap boards that would be suitable for the test and development. The part that would be trouble is understanding the S550 specific canbus messages. I have a S197 that I can capture and reverse engineer canbus messages, but no way to capture messages from a S550. If anyone can point me to someone that has experience with S550 (or similar platform like focus or F150) canbus would be appreciated.
