Uses more battery? I'm sure it does slightly considering its a full LCD screen and much more processing. Why are you asking this question though?
Between the new LCD cluster, Airlift compressors, and sub/amp I have installed just don't want to kill my battery and get stranded. I will keep an eye on it and see how it handles everything.

The cluster is going to be the least of your worries. That compressor will pull probably 50+ times more power than the cluster does. Just keep the car running and a good battery.

So going to be doing the install today, I noticed that some do not cut the plastic out behind the analog cluster before putting in the digital cluster...so I am doing this on a 2016, do I need to cut the plastic out? Don’t want to start on cutting it if it is not needed.

Thanks in advance,
Tony

As Sam said, you will have to cut it out. The picture in the first post shows exactly what needs to come out and that piece came out of a 2016; namely mine to be exact.

I would suggest adding the extra brackets like I made, it makes it 100 times more secure, but they are not necessary. Look at post 880 to see what I did... I am surprised more people do not do this... It makes the installation time a little longer, but it will not rattle or shake on me either...

So want to update everyone, got my cluster in today and installed. I asked breeves02 to do the config for me, and I couldn’t be happier with his quick response, and great support. He made it as easy as downloading 2 files he emailed to me, then a quick write values in forscan, and just like that up and running. I was a little nervous about doing the programming myself as I have never used forscan and did not want to mess it up.

Love the dash tho, really has a lot of function as well as cool looking tech. Install was not difficult at all, just time consuming taking all the trim off and cutting the back panel. I couldn’t not have done it without this thread and all the work that people like breeves and all of you have put into this.

Thanks again!!

I am considering ordering from Hell Horse Performance. They have an option to pay extra for support from @breeves002 . If I pay extra will @breeves002 have everything pre programmed for me through ForScan? It is advertised ready to go programming files customized to my
Car .

Just ordered mine as well.
Thank you Sam. I’ve had dreams about this....can’t wait to see how a manual displays... damn it’s gonna rock.
