Glad I can rely on this threads ongoing flood of information regarding the 18' 6 speed. Good thing there's only 1 known thread for the topic and its not getting derailed. :headbonk::headbonk::headbonk::doh:
I love the 6 speed. I have no buzzing. There is some gear noise at certain speeds, but that's what I have been used to with manuals. It is almost too easy to drive. That would be my only complaint. Maybe add some extra spring force with the clutch pedal.

prices are catching up fast. You can easily find a base 18 manual for 30 - 31k

If you love the 18s and want to save money just wait a couple months and you will be able to get a premium for much less them they are selling now.

Funny...ever since I got this 2018GT id contemplate whether to turn the radio on or not whenever I drive. Usually I just keep the radio very low. The exhaust in the 2018 is glorious.
If you don't mind me asking, Is yours active exhaust? or not.

Hi guys,

I know the new Coyote has a crazy powerband, making more than 400whp from 5500 to 7500 rpm, but bloody hell why making the gears so long ?

I have a brand new PP (with 3.73 gear then) and made the calculation that 3 tops at 120mph !!! I’m in breaking in so didn’t try all the way but at 3750 rpm the car is at 60mph in 3rd...

So base car will probably tops 3 at 130mph or so...

I don’t get it...I’m already complaining about my C7 GS gearing after the 3rd gear, the mustang is even longer...:(

What? The 3.73 gears are the opposite of long. They're short.

My current S550 GT is an auto, but the 2011 Brembo car I had a stick. I thought the transmission was great! Especially when I changed out the bushing from foam to poly. I noticed NO increased NVH. None. I also changed the fluid and put in some synthetic either Royal Purple or Mobil 1, I don't remember other than to say that the car shifted much smoother. After the Roush Blower was installed I changed to an Exedy 500 clutch kit and ruined the fun of driving with that stiff clutch. I personally liked the MT-82. And, from what you guys are saying, the '15 up are better transmissions. Oh, yeah, I also did hundreds of runs at the DS with 600rwhp and the transmission was excellent, never had any problems. The gearing of the 373 required me to shift in to 5th which didn't help my 1/4 mile times.

Speed in gears with 2018 3.73 GT PP at 7300 rpm on oem 751 revs per mile tires:

48.3
74.5
110.1
156.4
193.0
252.2

Vs. 2015 at 7300 rpm

42.7
64.3
92.5
118.5
156.4
240.6

Vs 2015 at 6800 (rev limiter)

39.8
59.9
86.2
110.3
145.7
224.1

Second was too short for F Street class autocrossers and it was normally better to sit on the rev limiter than to do a quick upshift for a couple of seconds before having to downshift for the next corner.

He's talking about the transmission gears not the final drive. The '18 MT-82D4 gears have become significantly wider than the '11-17 gear ratios with 4th gear now being 1:1 coupled with not one but two overdrive gears.

So, you guys, I was thinking of buying a new '18 with the PP manual trans. So, are you happier with the new gearing? Also, how is the clutch pedal pressure? I got rid of my 2011 Brembo because I foolishly put in the Exedy 500 and the pedal pressure made city driving lousy and tiring.

Looks better for those who are looking to go forced induction. Now that my car has the pp2 with the bumped up rev limiter I find the gearing to be absolutely perfect for the 1/4, DD and spirited runs on back roads!

So you confirm or so what i saw....
For what i see 2015 gearing is way better...and shorter...:tsk: ...We'll need to put a 4.10 final drive....:(
I don't get the point....2018 has 4 gears...

Say what? :D

For autocrossing the 2015 second gear is too short and third is too tall with the 6800 rpm rev limiter. This would still be the case with the higher 2018 rev limit. Conversely the 2018 has approximately the same top speed in second as the Camaro's and BMW's.

In normal street driving the 2015 second always requires shifting too soon and first it too short . . . in my opinion.

I'm getting the best of both with the 10A. :D My 15 will be for sale at a dealer in NC If anyone wants a "driven by an old man" 15 GTPP. :-)

The clutch is almost too easy to press, imo. I still love driving it though.

Yes, but sorry a Mustang wouldn’t be my first choice by far for Autocrossing...And it would be the case for most buyers..The Mustang GT is a road car, in the tight turns on a Hillclimb long gears hurts a lot....

Camaro 6 SS ratio are significantly shorter in 3 and 4 (100 and 130mph at 6200)
