Can't wait for feedback on this. I have an extended warranty so I'd like to stick with this set up. Also interested to see how this affects shifting in the various modes.
Give me two weeks and I’ll let you know.

Would be a good question to ask FP, about the intake, I would assume it's not included because the hood line is lower otherwise known as fitment issues.

I checked with them, they said it uses the standard air box with a high flow filter. They told me the factory design is already efficient and doesn't need to be changed. I wonder if this is why people say not to waste money on the cold air intake as there are no gains present for the Ecoboost. I had read that when I was thinking of doing some mods.

They also mentioned the following since I couldn't read their dyno graph.
The stock tune made 229 peak HP, 310 peak TQ. Our calibration made 251 peak HP, 361 peak TQ.

That seems low.....VERY low. 250whp is what we should be getting stock. The site says this is on 93 octane, but this looks like 87.

I agree with you and had the exact same thoughts. The only way I am going to know is if I take it to a dyno after the tune which I am considering.

My thought is we are going to lose 10-15% from the crank to the wheels. If we start at 310 we should be at 260-265 stock. If we assume the tune gives an additional 10% we would be at 285-290 whp. I won’t know until I get numbers myself and if I do I will share with everyone. The only thing is I am likely not going to take it to a dyno pre tune so we will need someone else’s numbers.

Sounds good. I've seen enough baseline graphs to know that we're good for around 250-260whp. 290 sounds about right for a tune.

I wonder if this was using a Mustang dyno? I think the Mustangs have a reputation for dishing out low numbers.

I would hope so considering they are Ford Performance and all. That would be super embarrassing otherwise.

FRPP Dyno was DYNOJET, it says on the graph they posted. All that matters is what they achieved relative to the dyno results from the factory tune used as a baseline. Same car, same dyno, same day (atmospheric conditions), record baseline factory tune numbers, then record FRPP tune numbers. The plus or minus differences over stock, relative to that car, on that dyno, on that day, with all controllable variables controlled for as much as possible, is all that matters.
COBBs posted maps notes also use "avg.percentage of increase" over factory tune. They state % increase NOT hp/torque numbers.

As reference, here's a link to COBB map notes for 2018 Mustang, graphs are shown, but hp/torque numbers are not stated, only percentage of increase which can be expected. Take note of the factory tune baseline numbers shown on graphs, very similar to what FRPP shows for stock on their Dynojet graphs. But again, not important.

My thoughts exactly. That MUST be with 87 octane.
It would be an INSANE amount of loss. On 93 octane we should be making closer to 260 WHP.
That is why I WILL NEVER use regular gas on this car lol...

Goes to 3/36 for issues directly caused by the tune, otherwise stays the same.
Maintains what ever remaining of 3/36 you have left on car. 5/60 is still in tact but not warrantied for tune related issues.

They changed the graph and data on the website. See below.

  • Horsepower and torque gains throughout the powerband
    • 35 HP peak gain at 2,900 RPM
    • 76 Lb.Ft. Torque peak gain at 2,600 RPM

Just to clarify the Warranty for this 2018/19 tune - it’s the same as the previous 2015-2017 Ford Performance Tune.

The Warranty starts from the point of the Authorized Ford Install date and picks up FROM the original New Car Warranty in Service Date.

Meaning, if you’re already 10k into your 3/36, the Tune is only warrantied for 26k miles.

Quote taken from 1st paragraph of Ford Performance Tune Warranry disclaimer:
This Performance Packs and Components Limited Warranty begins upon installation and registration of the part(s) with Ford Performance and remains in effect for the balance of 36 months or 36,000 miles / 60,000 kilometres, whichever occurs first, calculated from the start date of the manufacturer's New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
Taken from the Ford Performance website:
Ford Performance and mountune® Power Packs, Handling Packs and select components for Mustangs, Fiesta, Focus, and F-150
Ford Performance and mountune Performance Packs and Components are warrantied for factory-supplied material or workmanship when correctly and completely installed on a late model Ford vehicle by an authorized Ford or Lincoln Dealer, Shelby American, Inc., mountune LLC or an automotive service technician certified by the Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). This Performance Packs and Components Limited Warranty begins upon dealer installation and registration of the part(s) with Ford Performance and remains in effect for the balance of 36 months or 36,000 miles / 60,000 kilometers, whichever occurs first, calculated from the start date of the manufacturer's New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
