White mustang here. Resonator was replaced with a Roush H pipe. The tips are slip on and are tighten by a bolt. See the listing here https://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-exhaus...2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0

I will avoid the welding route now that I think about it. Let’s see how it holds up during driving this week. I’m not too crazy about how these tips are mounted on. I’ll try to get a close up picture tomorrow.

OK, tips look good and centered, these are the clamps. Loosen it some and rotate the muffler, use it cause you have more leverage .

Don't worry about the hanger, it will go along for the ride.

Be mindful of the plug on the AE, pass side is a little close to the body. Onlt mention this, to be aware, I do not see a problem because the muffle is just rotating some.

Salty, is it, are you or were you a sailor by chance ?

Thanks for the picture that does help to see what your talking about. When I bought the car, it already came with the H pipe.

I assume to loosen the clamp and adjust muffler that way the muffler can look level correct? Then loosen other side and address that muffler?

Would you say I need to disconnect AE motor to do this adjustment?

Hopefully I have some time to take a look at it and mess around with it. My main issue with these tips is how they are held to the original tips. I feel like I'm gonna loose a tip if I hit a hard bump.

Btw no I'm no sailor or ever was one. Just went with "Salty" since the car is white.

Ok Salty,

I like the handle either way.

*1 yes
*2 not necessary, you will be working right there. Keep the clamp loose enough to drag. Meaning hold its position, as it is being rotated, and checked

Removing the plug NO. The plug most times gets damaged with the H pipe install, and that is the pass side.

You are not removing the pipe from the H pipe, just rotating it.

That help ?

"gonna loose a tip"

There is a gap in the tip that runs fore & aft of the tip. Between, middle of the ears for the screw.

This is common and a common problem also.

First, when tight, the gap is closed and tip loose?

The gap needs to be wider, so when the screw is tight some gap remains. Clamping the two.

Secondary, if there is a gap when screw is tight and the tip is loose.

The slot is to short, not allowing the screw to draw in the tip end, clamping the tip to the OEM tip.

Cut it longer, it could need to be widen some also.

Work one tip, get it figured out then do the other 3,

I would suggest the usage of the Dremel tool here.

But if you have one of these, grinder with a cutoff disk, will speed things up. Making lite passes, when cutting, ease into it. Do not want the tool to grab the tip and launch it across the room.

Got it. I will jack up the car and see what I can do. Its pretty hard to work on the car in this south Florida heat. I can't wait till it cools a bit.

Unfortunately I do not have any cutting tools. Lets see what I can do to make it work. Thanks for you help!

Sorry for the late reply

Do you notice that these are loose/rattle around at all, being slip ons? I asked my mechanic and he said he'd be worried about that.

Mine haven't budged. I have the same set but black.

Just installed mine. Don’t know how I feel about fitment. It doesn’t seem like that bolt holds on too well. Other than the diameter being slightly bigger, I feel that’s what is really holding it. Seems like driver side sticks out a bit more. I guess it’s just my OCD. Maybe I’ll just weld them on. Either way here are some pics

Are those the Roush Aero Foils on yours? Fitment looks better on your car than others I've seen, or is that just the shadow? Feels like they hang down to low on the outside on others. How do you like them? Scrape all the time?

Yes these are the Roush ones. Fitment is great. I wasn’t a fan of them but they have grown on me. No scrapping on them at all. Just kind of PITA to clean.

Thank god I don't have OCD for the drivers side up/down offset. Never noticed until just now when I installed these.

Hi, looks good. Just to make sure, you installed these over the OEM tips correct (no cutting)? And do you have a link for these exact ones? thanks

Ral: Yes, just slip over the stock ones. Here's the evil-bay link I used.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/264854598053

About $115 for the 4 shipped, required.
I just ordered them, fitment seems to be good, but fair warning even though I ordered all 4 on the same auction, they each came shipped individually through different companies and on different dates.

For those who have the tips that tightened by bolt, how are they holding up?

Mine are holding up well, but do shift occasionally. I would definitely suggest either wrapping the exhaust to make it thicker before installing, or even better, getting them welded. Well worth the price though, and look 1000x better.

Thank you, yes.. the idea I had in mind is to add a layer or two of header wrap then sliding the tip and tightening the bolt. I'm trying to stay a way from welding, as I don't have experience and would need to take it in to a shop to do it.

Not welding the tips is a better option, you're trusting another to have the same eye you have concerning the alignment of the tips. This will be proven after the first install, remember this when you tweak them.

The header wrap makes good sense,
