Nice job bro. Looks great!Had it welded last night by a buddy. Looks great, so much better than the thin stock tips. I painted the weld marks that came through the inside of the exhaust, just gave it a touch of satin black. Im sure the carbon will cover it soon anyways. All in I spent $68 on 4 tips, $20 on new saw zaw blades & $50 for the welding. Total $138
A nice coat of flat black paint on the inside till soot covers everything takes care of that.Don't want to see the old tips inside the new.
Thank god I don't have OCD for the drivers side up/down offset. Never noticed until just now when I installed these.....and yet another set installed.
As the 2 tips on either muffler are welded to a single muffler there's no adjusting. Unless your going to cut/weld one tip, and one tip only. Look at my middle picture. The inner tip is higher than the outer. If you have an X/H resonator delete on you can adjust your mufflers in/out and correct the angle of the mufflers. Easiest way was once rear was in the air, use a Jack stand extended and you can place under muffler and adjust it then re tighten clamps. If you have a Steeda X/H and using the steel band clamps that came with em they will slip. I switched to these clamps and the pipes never moved again. Not sure what all the other companies supply with theirs.
White mustang here. Resonator was replaced with a Roush H pipe. The tips are slip on and are tighten by a bolt. See the listing here https://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-exhaus...2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0Would not suggest welding yet, post a picture of the tip, the advertised photo.
Question for both, has the resonator been deleted ?
These tips are slid on over the stock tips ?
What I can see.
White mustang they look even, just cocked ? If the resonator has been deleted.
Go to the clamp connection aft side of X/H pipe, loosen some, not sloppy. You want to be able to rotate the muffler and it hold the position .
3 ways to get is trued, eyeball, torpedo level or tape measure from ground to underside of the tip.
Blue mustang LH, are the tips slash cut.
The center of the slash must be perpendicular to the ground. Will look sort of egg shape, the inboard tip appears that way.
Think your's are slipped over the stock tip, and a standard hose clamp holding things on. Getting the tips trued will take some trial & error. The clamp will have a tendency to shift the alignment as it is torqued .
Would like to see a shot of the tip as purchased ?
Food for thought folks
Cheers,
