10R60/10R80/10R80 MHT Automatic Transmission - Harsh/Delayed Engagement And/Or Harsh/Delayed Shift - Built On Or Before 23-Dec-2022

Affects these model year Mustangs: 2018-2023 Mustang
Reading the TSB it seems they still deliberately installed the defective CFD drum into vehicles until the 15th of August 2022, even though the defect was well known before.

Happy to notice that, since mine was built the 8th of August 2022...

I put it off this year. I couldn't consistently replicate the issue but it is there. I'll attack in the spring.

Mine seems to have the hard clunky shifting issue intermittently. It also feels weird when I let off the gas , feels kinda like a light thump or lose, hard to explain.

Thx for posting this I had a TSB done last Spring which I think was the previous one that was flashed to my trans. It is better than before but still could be better in my view. Would it be worth it to have this new strategy flashed? I get occasional harsh shifts but never any codes on my vehicle display. I don't think mine would warrant a teardown at this point.

Before I decided to go FI, I was planning to go to Wengerd and have him send me a transmission tune to correct all of the issues i was having. Nw, after my FI install and having a Custom Tune, I love my shifting now. All of the slow shifts or the fast/ premature gear shifts from 3rd to forth is corrected.

I have a problem, when cold, or randomly, when taking off in 1st gear, it completely falls on its face then comes back to life. When I'm full throttle, it shift slow when at 7300rpm.. starts nosing over then shifts.

Do the new TSBs replace all previous TSBs? 2022 GT is not mentioned for either 24-2046 or 23-2350 but is mentioned in TSB 22-2428.

Since I installed my Steeda tune back in fall my trans runs great, shifts like a champ and I have picked an average 4/10’s in the 1/4.

It does.
24-2046 supersedes 23-2350.
23-2350 supersedes 22-2428.
22-2428 supersedes 23-2152, 22-2139, 22-2102, 21-2377 and 21-2434.

Anyway any vehicle built on or after 16 August 2022 have the new CFD Drum already installed.
Mine was built on the 8th, so it appears I have the old design drum, but as some other millions vehicles with the same gearbox and without any fault whatsoever.

I wouldn't stress over it, but I don't understand why all the Mustang 22 MY was removed from the bullettin, it may be because they fitted the new design drum in the Mustang earlier?

Hey @Cobra Jet why not edit your Post #1 to list all the current 10R80 TSBs, and perhaps strikeout any that were superseded? That would always be the current one-stop shop location for us.

My GT was delivered in June of 2022 so I assume the transmission was built April May or earlier, just trying to make sure there is something that applies to my vehicle that I point to when I take it in for servicing.
