I recall a co-worker looking at Mustangs in 2010. I told her to wait for the '11 because it was getting that 5.0 engine with much more power. She didn't care about the added power and got a screaming deal on a new '10 GT Vert. It was a good looking car that sounded great (those 3 valve modular motors had/have a great sound) and unless you knew to look for the 5.0 badge, pretty much no way to tell a '10 from an '11 and she saved a pile of cash......it's all about what is important to you.

I have always been in the cheering section for getting a good deal on current models especially slightly preowned. A brand new car is an amazing feeling, but it soon faded for me with my 2012 mustang. I recently lucked into a very slightly used 2017 GT350 with 1400 miles on it. I know a 2018 GT350 or equivalent is going to drop soon, but that's not a factor to me considering I got a really good deal on this car and pocketed roughly $8000-10000 compared to what some guys spent on brand new models, especially with the absurd dealer mark up's. On he other hand, I very well could have bought a car that was not properly broken in. The risk was worth it to me.

I know a lot of guys seem to be dropping their 16/17 GT's for GT350's, Vettes, etc. My vote is keeping an eye out on the preowned GT's and be ready to jump when the deal drops.
