Hi everyone my driver side window stopped working about a week ago and I tried fuses and the simple things. It intermittently stopped going up or down but now it has totally stopped. Thank God it’s in the up position, but I am going to attempt to take the door panel apart today and test the switch and make sure it’s getting power. Just wondering if anybody else has had this issue. Oh, and my passenger side window has intermittently decided to do the same but whenever you open the door, it will still roll down about an inch until you get in and shut the door but the driver side won’t even do that Anymore.

Hi James. Sounds like you have similar prob several on here, including me,have had.
There are several threads about this, but I believe you could do same as I did, get that utoob vid on removing door panel, and find EVERY electrical connector, including on the window motor, and ,one at a time, un hook them, blow out with electronics cleaner, then blow dry with compressed air real good, then get some di electric grease from Advance or wherever, carefully work small amount into the female side of plugs, and re assemble.
Try all the window, door lock etc. Dont mess with anything else til you get panel back on enough to close door, and see if windows go all way up,and down, and especially drop 1/4?" when door handle pulled to get in,and return when door closed.
This took care of my probs, maybe it will help you.
Odd stuff like this will wear an old man out. No tellin what it might do to you younger bros.
Good luck and best regards,,let us know what happens. Dave F

Hey Dave , thanks for the response. I will definitely try that tomorrow. I did a hard reset by unhooking the battery for about 30 minutes and plugging it back in while I had the window switch unplugged from the harness, and it seem to work for now but whenever I do open the door, it will drop a quarter inch but whenever I shut it, it will not go back up still so I’m going to pull the door panel off tomorrow and try what you suggested. As long as I don’t use the automatic setting for the windows, they seem to work but if I try to use that the switch or something stops working all together .

Had this same problem twice. You have to find the harness that plugs into to window motor (behind the door speaker). Unplug it and clean it with electrical cleaner, blow out with air, and reapply grease. Worked for a couple months and just happened to me again yesterday, did the same thing and it’s working again. Don’t know how long it will last this time. Hopefully I won’t have to mess with it again.

Had this happen yesterday. This morning I was $140 less in the wallet. Mine was stuck in the full down position so I had to take the window out. There are a few videos on line. One thing that helped but no one mentioned was to take a sharpie and add witness alignment marks on the window before undoing the window clamps, that way you’re real close and don’t need to do a lot of adjustment to the window. I did add some DC-4(Dow Corning dielectric grease) to the plug to help with water issues. I may go back inside and add some to the window guides to make the up and down smoother and easier for the new motor. I have done that to my F-250 in the past and it helped out quite a bit.
