The fronts I got from ford were the wrong tires.
Sportcup2, but not the spec tires, much more tread and likely
better wear, although the ratings are the same.
weight ratings were more and different side wall.
Heat & wear ratings the same.
the full set that showed up yesterday were the spec tires,
big difference.

Great write up, Funny I got the vet guys looking at mine in
this area. But each to their own.
When you get the chance, the brakes are incredible.
I know many changed the spring for clutch, I got used to mine and now like it.

At 7000km/ 4200 Miles I changed the fronts, but did have 2 track days on them.
New set came yesterday, I suspect rears will need to be changed
after next track day

Sorry to hijack the thread, but did you half to change the rotors as well or just the pads? And are you still using oem pads?

Hmm, interesting to note TR, what is the difference or how can I tell for certain whether I have the spec tires or not? Is it just the weight ratings? How is the sidewall different? I'm curious to know whether mine are correct or not now!

Still running OEM pads, about half left. Likely change out in winter.
hopefully 2 more track sessions this year.

Tires, side wall is big difference, tread design looks similar, but quite different
weigh ratings and most of writing on sidewalk different.
Side wall is almost flat on regular tire, and seems longer ( i am sure its not, but)
Shorter, slight bulge and smoother finish. I will get some pics.
Although last time I tried igmur, did not work here.

Ahh, yes you can see a pretty clear difference with the "wrong" tires. Almost positive that I have the correct versions on mine, as I definitely don't have the deep siping on the outermost edge, and my tires definitely don't have a "straight" sidewall. Thanks for the clarification!

Yours are correct, they came from factory, I even remember liking at them.
Its when you order, making sure you get the right ones.
