Hi all. I have a 2016 convertible gt. I cannot drop my convertible top now. I've had no issues in 8 years until now. After unlatching the top when I press the button to open the top nothing happens. No windows go down and I do not hear any noise from the motors.. Nothing happens either way I push the rocker button. I checked the fuses #15 and #17 but they appear ok. I didn't have that style of fuse but I switched them and still the same results.

I had the wiring harness in the trunk finally replaced from the recall 6 weeks ago and cannot remember opening the top since (it's hot in so. FL) but not sure if that could cause the issue.. I did do a search before asking for help .

Any suggestions on where to check next? I was thinking to make sue there is power going to the rocker switch but not sure how to access it and the switch does light up at night..

I appreciate any thoughts or ideas!

I would take it back and firmly state was working when brought it in. Sounds like something was disconnected. Can also look around in there yourself.

Well, we are still troubleshooting this issue. We scanned the trouble codes. The only code that comes up is u0207-87. " Lost communication with moveable roof control Module-A Missing Message - Current DTC". We started with the shop manual following it's trouble shooting flow chart along with reading many forums.

We first checked the fuses. They were all right. We then replaced the Convertible Top Retainer - Ford (FR3Z-76030A65-B). After replacing that - it still throws the same trouble code. No action when pressing the converible button nothing happens, the windows dont't drop and nothing happens.

Next the shop manual suggests that it may be the Moveable Roof Control Module A (MRCMA). Its the same motor on either side. We replaced the passenger side MRCMA and still nothing.

On a long shot we even replaced the convertible top switch, that too did nothing.

Tonight we are going to switch out the MRCMB after that I'm all out of ideas.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Where you ever able to figure out the problem?
I have a 16 where the top is not going up on the drivers side.
i think the motor is about to die.
it clicks but that is about it.

Yes. After replacing the Moveable Roof Control Module A (MRCMA ) on the passenger side. It still would not work. Though the motors are labeled mrcma and mrcmb they are the same motor. We then replaced the motor on the drivers side and finally had a working top.

I pulled the rear apart this evening. The drivers side motor just clicks. The passenger side goes up a few inches then stops from the weight of the other side not moving I assume. I was going to try switching the motors but couldn’t figure out how to remove the motors. I did undo the torque screws but couldn’t get any further.
do you have any info on removing and replacing the motor?

I have a pdf about the converible top. page 47-50 talks about the steps to remove the mrcma

I hope I'm not late to the game, but did you check fuse 23(windows and switches) under the passenger side kick panel? When I was installing my car stereo and used that fuse location for a remote wire, I accidentally blew the fuse which caused my top to not go up and down. Once I put a new fuse in, everything worked

Thank you so much!
That helped a lot!
There is not much info available on line or from ford regarding the tops!

This was one of the reasons I bought an extended warranty. The top mechanism and all the related stuff scares me to death. My worst fear is putting it down and it not coming up, or quitting half way up or down. Makes me long for my little British cars and their manual tops. And before anyone makes any snide comments, with the exception of my first Mini (only once, and it was an easy fix), none of them ever stranded me.
