2015 ride quality.

So when I was at Brandon ford looking at the 2015 they had for training I ended up staying for a good 4 hours. I just kept trying to make myself like Guard but I just couldn't. The time I spent there offered up so many other great experiences though. The biggest things I took away from the time was what the Ford rep said to everyone that asked about how it drove. The rep kept saying it was the best riding ford since he was in the ford flex. The reaction from all the sale people that asked the question was very telling. They were all very shocked and they all asked if it really drove as well as the flex. He would then go on talking about how the time on the highway just kinda melted away and felt some much less because of how well it drove. He also kept talking about EPAS. About how it would automatically compensate the car if the highway was not ideal. If they car was being pulled to the side the car would automatically compensate for you. I am uncertain what EPAS really does in all but the rep seemed to be really adamant about how great it was. He just kept going over how the comfort of the interior and the ride quality really made the car a pleasure to drive.

Later when I actually sat in the car I was kinda blown away by how comfortable it was to me. I just kind of sank into the seat and it held me tightly. The center stack form was absolutely ideal. My right leg just kinda rested in the slight recess and it was just unbelievably comfortable. The smaller steering wheal was also amazing and was very surprised by how much the steering wheal telescoped. The feel of everything was very solid and just felt very tight. Just seemed like everything was very upscale. I drove to the dealer in my 2008 CTS and the mustang just seemed so much more composed on the interior. The seats seemed to be much more comfortable. The seats felt to be of much softer leather and felt amazing.

Thinking back on everything I took in that day is that this car is going to be an amazing daily driver while being at home on the track as well. While I went away fairly sad at how much I disliked the color guard, which I ordered, I am fairly happy I got to see how amazing the car look and how great it is going to be to drive. As I drove home in my CTS I just kept thinking how much harder the seat was and noticed how badly the center console pushed against my leg. I already missed how my leg just kind of fell into the contour of the mustangs center stack. Never really thought the mustang I bought for the power would also be more comfortable then the luxury car I bought for comfort. The sadness of the huge disappointment in the guard color really just kind of faded away with the knowledge of all this amazing stuff.

EPAS already does this in the '11-14 Mustangs. It isn't really noticeable. For people who perform major suspension upgrades especially to the front control arm bushings the EPAS functions actually cause major problems like feedback and shudders. Hopefully Ford has fixed this issue.

Well said. I agree 100% with your assessment of the interior after sitting in it myself. Everything just seemed to Fit Perfectly. When I first saw the design of the Center Stack in Spy Pic's I thought it looked Horrible, but it kinda grew on me after the reveal. After sitting in it I think it's Amazing! That little Notch at the Bottom on Both Sides just kinda Begs You to Rest Your Knee there. As I said elsewhere, another thing I found Perfect was the Height of the Console and Door Arm Rests. They both just kinda fell Naturally at Arm Level. Not too High or Low and Both at the same Height. I can't wait to Drive One. I'm not sure about the Rep's reference to the Flex though. I've never been in one. I think they're horrible to look at. Were they supposed to be Amazing to drive or something? I always just thought of them as a Boxy Taurus Wagon.

Yes It is Smaller in Diameter than the Current Mustang's Sterring Wheel.

The steering feel and ride comfort reminded me of an old "slush bucket" from the 70's and 80's, or like a 90's model Buick Century. Very loose steering with lots of play for "comfort". I really hope that the EPAS comfort mode is about the same as it is in my 2013 and not looser than that.

Luckily You'll be able to change steering input through the Toggle Switches, which felt Amazing BTW. The Toggles and the Automatic Shifter both felt like Real Quality, High End Pieces.

Guard is a green color. I think many people don't realize this.

Right now, my choices are narrowed to Ruby Red or Magnetic.

I don't think I would use a rental car as a comparison personally. They are usually base spec, and beaten to hell and back. My last rental car only have 4000 miles on it and the alignment was already way off, most likely due to someone curbing the thing or something like that.

It's also possible the version of the Flex they were referring to was the sport version or something like that, and the steering is a different animal than the ride altogether. I wouldn't worry too much until you drive the car, and I seriously doubt it will drive like your rental.

He was referring to the flexes ride comfort and quality, not tracking it... All of the 4 sales people that asked the rep while was there acted very surprised he said it ride as smooth as a Flex.
