My brake lights don't come on until I have the pedal pressed almost as far as it can go. If you just apply light pressure they don't come on. Also, my middle light on the drivers side tail light stays bright with the headlights turned on. I've seen a lot saying replacing the tail light fixes the problem of one light staying bright. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the first issue or has any idea of what could be causing it?

Most cars have a brake light switch under the brake pedal. I bet that switch is bad. I think its called brake pedal stoplight switch. They are pretty cheap, I think $30.

Also check to make sure the brake pedal (or clutch pedal) “bumpers” are not missing. If they are, or have become deteriorated, that will also cause starting issues. The threads for that topic is here:

RE: rear taillights, check this thread because it’s a common issue with illumination problems (Post # 83 had a very good and most recent solution):

I just had the brake pedal bumper replaced from the recall and that's when I found out I was having these issues. I took it back to the dealership for them to check it out and I think they tried a new brake light switch. Once I got back home I realized the brake lights still weren't working properly. I'm supposed to go back next week for them check everything again. I'm just looking for every option to try and fix it so maybe I can avoid having to go back to the dealership.

I had seen post #83 but wasn't entirely sure on what they were doing. I'm more of a visual person so it's easier when I can see pics or a video of something.

I just replaced my battery last month. Any chance that could be causing any of these issues?

Went back to the dealership this morning and they were able to fix the brake lights not coming on unless they were pressed almost all the way down. They put in a thicker bumper and made some other adjustment. Now I just need to figure out what to do to fix the other problem.

Good to hear they were able to help you out with the brake lights.

As for the other issue, are you referring to a single LED bar being on bright? Revisit Post #83 in that prior link above; the repair outlined may help with your LED issues too.

Yes, I was referring to the single LED staying bright when my headlights are on. I'm going to give it a try and see if I can figure it out.
