So I've been having issues with my OEM passenger tail light. When signaling to turn only 2 lights would light up sequentially (the outside light does not blink; stays a light red). Also when locking the car, the outside light on the passenger side does not light up but lights up when unlocking the car. So, thinking I had a bad tail light I decided to purchase a set of new tailghts (smoked euros). Install was a breeze but still incurring the same problem. I now realize I have an electrical issue and I am thinking the ground wire may have come loose. Problem is that I can not locate the ground for the passenger tail light. I pulled back the carpet and everything. Can anybody help me with this?

It’s most likely a BCM issue. IIRC, the rear BCM is located behind the passenger side trunk liner mounted to flimsy metal on rear wheel well (US spec would be RIGHT side standing behind vehicle).

Check out post # 25 here:

If the car is still under the factory warranty (OR an ESP that covers electrical such as lights), the fix would not be out of pocket. If the car doesn’t have any warranty in place, then, cost is out of pocket.

Bummer, I just had problems with my driver side taillight (car is driven about every other day and battery has never seemed low on charge) and rather than pay 600 for one taillight assembly, I also bought a pair of aftermarket smoked taillights but that fixed my problem. Too bad you dont live near me, I'd plug in my good spare pass side assembly for testing. But unlikely, as it seems both of your pass side taillights (old and new) do the exact same thing. Hopefully its the reflash or the bcm, seems like a cheap option to try before the dealer rapes you. Good luck.
