I think the new interior looks amazing compared to the 14' and older model years. Finally no more cheap painted plastic. There will actually be real metal trim pieces and knobs. I just wished that the door pull handles, cup holder trim and shifter trim pieces were made of "brushed aluminum" rather than the bright shiny fingerprint prone chrome pieces they are displaying right now. I mean after all its 2014, chrome in vehicles should be extinct by now hahahah!!. But hmmm, this could always change before they go into mass production

I'm with you, I'd prefer a brushed aluminum or satin finish instead of the plasti-chrome.

Looks far better than the current model. The only thing I don't care for his how the center stack awkwardly terminates at the bottom. I think they could have made it flow a bit smoother.

I guess I would have to see how it fits together and feels in person before rendering a final judgment. I'm sure the base models will have their fair share of harder plastics in the cabin.

I can tell by this shot that the center console has the "cheaper" plastic. Could be for durability of course. A softer plastic or pleather would have gone better there. Of course that means more $$$.

I think the awkward termination is where function beat out form.... USB input and little cubby to put your phone when connected but I get what you are saying from a purely stylistic point of view.

Just another product the aftermarket will offer, I'm sure. Either that or take it to a good Upholstery Shop and have the console Wrapped in High Grade Vinyl. I'm sure it wouldn't be that expensive to have done.

I'm game too for satin finish instead of chrome.

But anything better than glossy black dahsboard panels like you see more and more in cheap cars nowadays. That is even worse than chrome.

The 2015 Mustang's Interior is a Mighty Fine Place to Be

This interior, in terms of materials and overall design layout, is unlike anything Ford has done before. It has this wonderful pure and premium sports car feel, while at the same time easily makes the interiors of its direct competitors look and feel bland. Even cheap. Ford’s European Line Director, Darren Palmer, proudly explained to us that the automaker went all-out when it came to using some of the finest build materials at its disposal. There’s aluminum where there should be, and not aluminum-looking plastic. Is this interior up there with, say, that of the BMW M3? Depends on whom you ask, but we happened to love the overall design. And yes, that’s just our opinion, which we think you’ll share one day very soon.

This is a nice writeup about the s550's interior from car buzz. I've read some conflicting things about just how premium that interior but this one has me expecting good things.

Has anyone here actually sat in the car? Is it really that much nicer than the current Mustang?

Are there any pictures of the interior without the navigation screen?

I didn't want it but I'm going to have to buy the NAV. The interior looks awesome but that radio is AWFUL. It looks like something straight out of 1980.

Going to have to agree with tbonez. Didn't intend on getting navigation, but my goodness that looks terrible.

I agree. I have No Use for In Dash Navigation but that Base Center Stack looks Terrible. Just too Flat with too Much Black Plastic and Too Many Little Flat Buttons. It Needs the Toggle Switches and Extra Chrome and Larger Screen to Look Right in My Opinion.

I am such a kool-aid drinker, I like EVERYTHING I have seen on the 2015 mustang... The interior is way up on my list of those things.
