2015 gt pp floor jack points

Hello, my car didnt come with a jack I only have a 3 ton craftsman floor jack and i was wondering where can i lift my car without damaging the frame. also wheres a good enough place to set the stands (2) under the car.

ill be installing my corsa exhaust this weekend!

Has locations that have arrows to indicate where to jack from. I typically use a 2x2 or 2x4 cut of wood on the floor jack where it meets the frame.

The jack is useless for this job.. there are only the four approved jacking points (as described in the manual) so no way you can jack the car up and place it on stands unless you're willing to place the jack under the diff or something.

Just buy a set of plastic ramps from Walmart for around $40. That's how I installed my Corsa. They're also perfect for doing oil changes etc so to you will get plenty of use out of them.

I think most people know what the manual says. The problem is that you cannot get the front or rear of the car onto stands just by using those jacking points. You can place the jack there, or the stands, but not both.

So you either..

1. place the jack or stands somewhere else (some people jack the rear up using the diff/subframe)
2. use ramps (or a lift if you're lucky enough to have one).

the ramps are so cheap, I don't think it's worth the risk to place the jack or stands somewhere other than the approved points.

Yeh, for jobs that need the wheel off, you're usually only working on one corner at once. I just leave the weight of the car on the jack and place a stand somewhere close to it as a backup. If the jack failed, I guess the stand might damage something but at least it wouldn't be me!

There is four spots under the rocker that has nuts welded to the inside perfectly placed for jacking pads. BMR sells a jacking bar that goes the full length of the rocker and bolts to these points makes it easy to jack up the car and putting the jack stands at each end. I made a aluminum blocks that bolt in place and works perfect with my hoist.

So I guess you would place the jack half way along the rocker, jack up the entire side of the car, then place the jack stand at the front or back, then repeat on the other side. For just lifting up the rear to install a cat-back, or just the front to change the oil, I still think ramps are a lot less hassle (and a lot cheaper). But I can see how this would be very useful if you wanted to get the entire vehicle up on to stands for some reason, and of course it will prevent damage to the pinch welds.

Could you put stands at the front and back on the side lifted up and do it on the other side as well ? That would get all four wheels in the air. I've never done it that way. Looks like I'll eventually need to get the bmr jacking rails as I don't want anyone touching my car when I need to rotate the tires.

Yeh, I think so. I imagine there would be a lot of creaking as the car moves around on the stands while you lift the other side. But if you need to get the car on to stands and don't have a hoist, this is about the best way I have seen.

I've never been able to get a car on Ramps without them just sliding forward.

I made some ramps out of 2x10s. They won't move at all. Only downside is they take some room up in the garage. Way way better than any cheap ramps. I'm planning on getting the bmr jacking rails for when I need all 4 wheels off the ground.
