So after I had the lowering strings installed, my Craftsmen 2 ton floor jack wont fit under my GT. I know there are low profile jacks out there. what types are you guys using with lowered Mustangs and where did you get them?

what steps are you using to place your GT on jack stands?

thanks

Not about the grammar, I just read that and for some reason it was funny to me.

Call me cazy, but I use scissor Jacks to lift my vehicles. It's fairly quick and take up little room.

I once watched a guy change all four tires at an autocross using a scissors jack. Turned the jack's screw with a cordless impact tool.

For oil changes, I just drive up on a set of ramps I've had about forever, leave it in gear with the P-brake set and the rear wheels chocked. I did need to build a small 'starter ramp' to keep bumpers from scraping on the store-bought ramps though.

For work serious enough to need the jack stands, I have a pair of HF 2-ton jacks that lift to almost 24". One jack for each side of the car lets me lift the car keeping it as close to level as I go as I feel like making it.

In fact, I just got finished running through the 2-jack drill only a couple of days ago (the Maxima in my sig needed a new crankshaft pulley and a pair of belts, and other than adjusting the alternator belt tensioner all the work has to be done from underneath with the RF wheel off).

Do a search for 'Arcan low profile jack'.

You won't be disappointed.

My previous jack was a HF...thought a jack's a jack, right? It worked, but when I went to lower a car, there was little to no feedback through the handle as to when it would actually start lowering, and it was damn near impossible to lower anything slowly. 9 times out of 10 this lead to the vehicle suddenly dropping, then I could twist cw to catch it in free fall and slow the descent. Needless to say, I didn't enjoy not being in full control of that much weight, nor the reaction time game it forced me to play.

80 dollar gray colored harbor freight jack has work great for me, zero issues using it on my mustang. I don't have any clearance issues either, can't complain.
