Yup, just got a flat. So, decided to check out the Tire Inflation Kit...what a piece of fuck'n junk! Just sat there puked sealant all over my rim & tire. Looks like I'll be buying a donut (already have a jack). I'd suggest others do the same!

What was the cause of the flat?

That sucks.

And it seems to always happen at the worst time, not that there is ever a good time.

Most European cars that don't have a spare, use run flats as their tires. Don't know why they wouldn't do it with ours?

Dunno, my wife is on the way now with a scissor jack & my 4 way lug wrench. I'll post what caused the flat. Must be pretty good size whatever it is. It went down pretty rapidly...about 10 seconds & it was flat. Luckily there was a parking lot near by. TPMS did its job tho! First the tire symbol came on, then it showed all the tires & their pressures...I could watch PSI's dropping!

If it leaked down that fast, the goo never had a chance of sealing it back..may end up replacing that sensor too. Sucks to have a flat, and even worse on a car this new.

I would report this to your dealer and tell them how bad this system doesn't work and how it left you stranded. That way it can get investigated by ford as being junk. I don't have much faith in it either. I am planning on getting a donut tire but issue is that I have brembo brakes so the donut will only work on back. If I get front flat, will have to take rear tire to front. I have a donut from an 08 but doesn't fit in spare tire hole.

I think a lot depends on the cause of the flat. That system will only work on certain types of flats. If the tire has a gash it won't work.

Well, whatever I ran over...didn't stay in the tire. It took about a 1/8" plug clean out of the thread!! You can see indentation of the head of it. That sealant bullshit would never have sealed a hole that big...it just would have came pouring back out. Anyway, plugged it and it's holding fine. Started driving, got about 1/4 mile down the road, tire light went out, checked the tire pressure screen...all was good! Here's the hole:

Wow, I really would expect a hole like that to be able to be plugged with a system that is supposed to replace a spare

You're replacing that tire aren't you?
No, what for? Plug is in place, it's holding pressure...no reason to replace. If it was in side wall...sure. If it was a motorcycle tire I would.

Lol
Enjoy.

Personally, I don't feel safe driving hard a sports car with a tire that has its integrity compromised.
Unless you're an engineer and you know carcass strength enough to be making that kind of call...
