far from a waste of money my friend
Please tell me how your brembo brakes are not a waste of money for a daily driver, what direct benefits do you really have over the normal brakes? I'm sure you use them to their full potential huh going from stop light to stop light ;)

That would be the same thing as saying buying a GT with 435bhp is a waste of money because no one needs 435bhp as a daily driver when there is a cheap 300hp 4 cylinder ecoboost option.

If you have owned or driven owned other cars with stock 4 piston brembos you would appreciate the difference and advantage of the 6piston brembos.

I can attest to this that even with race pads that I had on my lighter weight 04 STi...The braking of that car does not compare to the stock pads offered in the PP Stang...It is just phenomenon.

Usually when buying cars you look at the overall package of what you get with the price compared to the competition. For instance, I'm yet too see another manufacture give you 6 Piston brembos on a sub 40K car.

If the difference in initial bite is as much stronger for the PP as OP has observed, well, it's hard to put a price tag on that. It's the one stop in 10,000 where the better early bite gets you stopped just one foot shorter and saves you the big $ and t really matters. Not the other 9,999 (but the improved "feel" you get for all of those is very reassuring).

It's really easy to get spoiled by good brakes, even if it's just better pads.

I did not really notice how sensitive the brakes were on my PP car, but I DD a 7th gen Accord and they are touchy. Just used to it. My wife on the other hand complains about both cars.

the upgraded brembo brakes more than make the PP worth it
Ehh, I had a Brembo car before and now I'm driving a base GT. The brakes on the base GT are really great. I took the car to the road course and it worked great! No braking problems - in fact I noticed that my base GT could out-stop the other cars that were on the track. I had zero problems with fade.

I've also noticed the Ford brakes have less knock back on bumps and a little better feel than the Brembos on my previous GT

If you are really into racing and a fast driver on the road course, yes maybe the Brembos are worth it. For me I don't need them.

I do miss the 3.73 gears, though.

I test drove a gt this week. Honestly I wasn't that impressed. The motor sounded worlds better but tbh I kinda enjoy the ecoboost being dead quiet. Also my last 200 miles I'm averaging close to 30mpg on my ecoboost. I didn't feel blown away by the gt. It was a little faster but not $7000 faster. I was able to walk away satisfied with my ecoboost purchase. To each their own though.

My first S550 test drive 6+mo ago, was with a nonPP Eco stick. I was impressed by its general composure compared to my then current car, a '12 5.0, having driven it over bumpy and undulating test-loop terrain. The engine left a little to be desired, but I blame the dealer's use of 87oct swill over high-test for its reluctant tip-in.

Flash forward to a month ago, and I got to test drive a four–mile old DIB PP GT. Well, yada yada yada, and that car now has 2000 miles.

The 4 pistons are more than capable of locking up good tires. The benefit of the brembo package is its ability to withstand repeated hard braking. If you're able to lock up the tires, adding braking power will not help you stop shorter in a daily driving scenario.

The performance package stops shorter primarily due to having a grippier tire setup. Upgraded suspension can play a role there as well.

That being said, I think the Brembos are easily worth it.

Actually, better bite buys you more deceleration early in the braking event and a slightly shorter stop even though the maximum deceleration is ultimately no better. You have to be thinking in terms of how the amount of braking varies with time; it's not an instant change from 'nothing' to 'all she's got'.

That is exactly why many cars now are being equipped with "brake assist", which in certain situations assumes that you want the car's maximum available braking and electronically pushes the brakes all the way into ABS for you because it can do that faster than most people generally can or will.

Came around a corner pretty hot and there is this parked car with a guy standing in the opposite lane tending to a dog that he'd evidently hit. I rather liked the lack of drama stopping that fast.

If you get a power adder like SC or turbo, the bigger brakes are a good thing to have at some point. A lot of people who build fast cars make brakes a low priority, because of the expense and the brakes don't make it faster in a straight line. A sports car, if done thoroughly has power, handling, and braking. Subtract any of those and the car will be lacking. I guess what I am trying to say is the PP is a good platform to take the car to the next level. It's fun as is.

I hit a back road a couple of weeks ago. Ran it up to 80, tapped the brakes, downshifted and made a fairly sharp curve then repeated that on the next curve. The car performed without a squeal or any hint of sliding out. I wasn't ready to push it further so this Mustang has some left in it that I may not tap out the street. It's good to know I have a buffer of safety and it's not being run on the ragged edge. One day maybe I will buy some lessons and track time and see the full potential.

Thanks you for saying this eloquently. Even cheap brakes will provide 100% braking power in a given situation. The benefits lie elsewhere.
