True - Sport+ is even better, much more willing to downshift and revs high. But a bit much for daily driving as it hangs in high rpms a bit too long and is reluctant to shift into 10th. I wish Normal mode was somewhere between current Normal mode and Sport+.
I have a base with D and S. I think that ford nailed it, for around town and 90% of the time D is perfect. When I do shift into Sport mode I have been very happy with it. It holds gears better is willing to downshift going into corners, and only every once in a while it will hang in a gear longer then you hoped. That said I have only 1,500 miles on my car and I'm sure I'll get more dialed into driving.

I just used Sport this morning for the first time (the Sport that is selectable on the gear selector, not the the Sport+ Mode selectable on the toggle switch). I had tried Sport+ Mode before but it was a bit much for daily driving. Sport seems like what I was hoping for - somewhere between Normal and Sport+. At least after one day that's my impression. I'll see how I feel after a week or two.

My car doesn't have a sport+ mode. Only Drive and Sport. The only toggle switch I have is for the steering.

I have a base GT/10spd though.

My car lurched in 3rd but my car was cold. And when I'm in sports mode it's almost like it's not sure if I'm breaking all the way. They need to do some work on the A10. But other than that in spirited driving it's perfect!

I'm sure these trannies have the adaptive learning like most all new ones these days. Give it awhile, and it may smooth out. I don't know that for sure though as our '18 A10 hasn't arrived yet.

My C7 Corvette with the A8 does the same thing (and damn near everyone else's I've talked to does too), and with 8K mile it still does, but not as bad. I have learned that if I put the tranny into sport mode, and then hit the paddle to put it in 2nd, then put it in drive before I take off the lurch is almost non-existent. Hell of a way to do it I know, but there it is. :)
