OK not sure what direction I want to go but I have a 17 GT350 with 7 spoke wheels in satin which are nice but the gloss black is a better look for me. They have some damage so I could get them powered coated but I see the barrel has damage so I don't think it's the right size wheeIs I had 20's on my 15 GT that looked great and thinking of getting 20's for the 350. I don't really see 20's on the 350's so not sure of the look? Wanted to get some thoughts about 19 or 20 wheels on this car. If I do it'll be Progect 6g 7 spoke just not sure of 19 or 20's

I’ve done both and ultimately went with 20’s for better proportions. The S550 is a very big car and I felt the 20’s better suited the car. I only kept the 19’s 5 or 6 months before regret set in and I changed. No regrets. Cannot comment first hand for ultimate performance but for a street car 20’s do very well.

There are very few suitable high performance tires available to match the OE 295/35/19 and 305/35/19. In 20", you have tons of options in terms of 295/30, 305/30, and 315/30 which basically match the OE GT350 tire diameter. A good quality 20" wheel is typically not much heavier than the same wheel in 19.

I think that while conventional wisdom would tell you that it isn’t a hard fast rule. Tire construction plays a large role as well. Between the stock Michelin’s and the Nitto NT 555’s I have in 20” I really didn’t notice a degredation in ride quality. The Michelin is definitely a higher performing tire but wasn’t necessarily a better riding one.

Be sure to tell everyone what you want to do…auto-cross, road-track, car shows, milk-run, etc.

Im stuck like the OP. I know that I’ll be tracking the car 2X a year. It’s not a lot but there’s a ton of good roads around my area to do spirited driving on. I’m hunting suspensions right now. But will need to figure out wheels to compliment the suspension and final goals.

I'm going to get Project 6GR 7 spoke gloss black wheels. Doing a Nitto GII front and RII in the rear since it has a Whipple. I don't race or road race just weekend fun and car shows. I like the 19 that I have now but they hit the rotors so not enough room so the 20 is the only other option.
