Hey everyone!

Before I go porting my 18 intake mani I wanted to find out if it’s actually worth it. Running e85 on my gen 3 coyote, vortech v3 head unit. Will I see any noticeable gains that are provable on a dyno?

Most say no, I am getting ready for a ysi and stage three ported heads and Lund said just stay with my stock intake unless I went to one of the high dollar ones gains wouldn't be noticed.

Intake porting can be done easily at home. Though the gains may not be dramatic, the small mods are cumulative.

This is what I figured as well, intuitively it makes sense, as it is just an air pump. I probably should do it, and if I find one done for a low price I might, but the OP would be better off with a pulley. I will run out of pulley.

Without a flow bench you can make things potentially way worse.

currently on a 3.6 pulley. While it’s in storage for the winter I might as well honestly, I guess it can’t hurt.

If you don't have a griptec yet and plan on multiple different pullies I'd do that. They are very easy to change compared to the vortech pulley. They have a hub that attaches and you bolt the pulley to it, so no prying ot heating required. Also easier to manipulate in that small space.

I'm on a completely stock block so I'm really not sure what kind of boost that it can handle from the vortech unit. Would it even be worth moving on from a 3.6?

I think rough rule of thumb for the vortech is 1 psi per 0.1 inch of pulley change. If your running E you can up it some. I think around a 3.3 or 4 you start to overspin it. I am running about 18 psi on a stock block with my JTB, but I am building a motor as I don't think it will last forever.
