A run of 160+ mph is no joke. I still think my run of 145-150mph in a 2005 Cadillac CTS-V stock in the rain may have just a little more merit. The rain and wind at that speed folded the mirrors. The wipers no longer needed. The M5 back then finally caught up and gave me the hand signal to slow it down. No cars were on that long stretch of straight flat highway in central California. I still think back on how dumb that was but, damn it was entertaining. Wish I had video to prove it.

OP...now you've inspired me to find somewhere to record an event like this safely. Hmm.....Pecos Road like a member mentioned?

I've had mine up to 160mph, window seals were fine.

A tune can remove the 164 limiter but there is still a hard-coded limiter at 186mph. I remember with the V6 mustangs removing the 115 limiter could result in a broken driveshaft. I haven't heard of this in a GT but I assume it may be for the same reason. If I run a 1/2 mile strip to try and hit the top speed I will want to upgrade to a 1 piece first personally.

I didn't have a video of my speedometer but according to my dashcam it took ~4 sec to go from 60-100 and ~19 sec to go from 60-160. WOT in 6th gear sucks.

The fastest ive had my 15 gtpp was 149 on hwy 99 south of 290. There is a good stretch where it is flat and straight. That was when she was totally stock. She felt very stable. I was in 6th gear.
Yep. There is a section on the West Park just east of 99 in Mexico that my Shelby allegedly got up to 166 on once. Too busy focusing to notice the wind noise. This may or may not have happened going east around 1 pm with zero traffic.

I've been lurking here lately instead of the GT350 section because I am working a deal to get out of the 350 and into a '18 A10 base model. I've decided that the car sits too much for the cost. I'm going base model and will mod the piss out of it. That way I am not financing a lot for a weekend car and will have a payment of $500 6o $600 less per month. That's some decent mod money.

Any particular road? I am east of there, and its quite diff in Minn. to do Anything....
385...

it might have been in Nebraska... those states kind of ran together.

miles long straight shallow valley stretch with no side roads, no driveways, and no visibility issues. I passed a pack on 2-wheelers and once clear just let it go until I was on the upswing of the gentle hill.

There must be something wrong with your windows seals.

I've taken my Ecoboost with Steeda tune up to 250 Km/h (~155 mph) and I didn't notice that extreme wind noise.

Both tuned ecoboost and unlimited V8's have the potencial to go much faster than that. Some guy in Europe subforum posted a 272 Km/h (measured by GPS) max speed on autobahn from his Cobb stage 1 Ecoboost.

What about that driveshaft failure? Is is a real thing? Does anyone had a failure related to high speeds?

Fastest gps verified stock S550 V6 was 161. But all runs should be two way because of wind etc. So you have to average them out with actual video proof. Having said that with speed rated tires and the limiter removed a S550 V6 Mustang will top out at 157mph. Confident on that figure and also confident the drive shaft will survive and it’s time to put that issue to bed:

I had my '05 GTO to 165. That was 6500 in 5th. I had enough road but not enough balls to push it any further. I think she would have been good for 180, but I wasn't!

Cruising on the Autobahn is a lot of fun. I have fond memories of my wife and I flying into Frankfurt and picking up an AMG E-something (cannot remember the exact trim). 140MPH+ was a little terrifying with slower traffic on the right going easily 60-70MPH slower.

To add icing on the cake, we were treated with an accident scene that was the result of a M5 hitting a car while traveling well in triple digit speeds shortly after we left downtown Frankfurt. Needless to say, she was screaming pretty loudly once we cleared the accident and I went WOT. :headbang:

The absolute freedom of flying across southern Germany without a care in the world (focusing intently, of course) during unrestricted zones was worth it alone, and it is a memory I won't soon forget.

I've had the car above 175mph and the window seals were fine. Front bumper cover does push out of the plastic tabs where it meets the fenders on both sides. Have to push it back in after every run.
