Bikeman, I’m not sure I’d say pointless (or hysteria) other than in the sense that pretty much everything that gets dissected on a forum is pointless in the greater scheme of things.

My 22 feels really strong and if the actual rating had never changed I wouldn’t suspect a thing. Of course that’s subjective. But fact is the rating did change so stakeholders want to know. It’s human nature.
I get it (That’s why the laughing emojis). But the HC trap is not new and Ford already told us what they did.

HPtuners has a compare feature. I can load both tunes, hit control 5 and any differences are highlighted.
Whatever changes were made, and I have zero doubt they were, are not being picked up by your program. It really doesn’t prove anything.

They did tell us, kinda, but I’d say only in a very general sense. That of course is enough to satisfy 99% of their customers for the GT and it was smart for them not to get any deeper in the muck than necessary. But that will never satisfy forum-hanging fanatics, who by definition are into knowing!

It's very simple yo see if there is an effect on the ecu. Make a few pulls stock and log timing lambda knock etc like. Remove trap and log again. You may find it is adding fuel not adding fuel pulling timing, etc as well.

This will give you a better understanding of the change vs the good ol butt dyno.

The butt dyno claims usually make ya look like an ass 😆 🤣

Looks like Tony just had someone do logging showing the fuel trim went up to 17% without the insert.

They recommend removing the trap, reinsert the tube and the fuel trim remains at 10%.

Cameron, this pertains only to the Mach 1 and not the regular GT, correct?

I wonder if the results would be similar.

The GT has the HC built into the airbox. The Mach 1 have it inside the air intake trak. If you were to remove that and leave the trak alone the MAF would still be the same diameter. I believe no issues would arise.

Any GT owners seeing something agyer Removing the trap?

BTW I wanted to thank you for taking the time to post that 1/4 mile result of 12.01/119 for the regular 2022 GT a few days back. It’s the only actual timed result for the 22 that I’ve seen so far and pretty encouraging at that. Do you recall whether the car was an A10 or an M6?

why all the hysteria over a stupid trap?
Cause it's interesting to see how it devolves into a anything except what the OP asked thread.

Just for the record, the OP didn’t ask anything. He was putting up a really informative video. This thread has stuck pretty close to on-topic. At least it hasn’t veered off into EVs and world peace.

Tell the truth I think this has been the best and most helpful “10 hp loss” thread I’ve seen yet and I for one hope it continues. It sure has brought a lot of stuff to light about a subject that heretofore has been a little murky.
