Guys I do not know if this helps but Jim Owens this weekend said the GT350 did the 1/4 mile in about 11.92 sec, and would have a governor on the top speed of 180 mph.
Well a 180 mph governor seems pointless but an 11 sec 1/4 mile sounds pretty good. I hope that part is true.

I've never had a problem downshifting to first while rev matching. I've done it on numerous 20-30mph roll races in Cobras, GTO, Camaro's, CTS-V hell any V8 performance car I've owned to be honest. Rev matching engine speed to transmission speed will not harm anything and will actually allow the shifter to go into gear smoothly.
And you hit the nail. Rev matching into first gear, or more precisely, into any gear(1-5) from a higher one, will not damage anything at all. You will be prolonging life of the transm, engine and "clutch".

I know this was discussed at length before, but I stumbled upon this since VINs are now popping up.

Look at the tech specs and gear ratios, if those are the correct numbers, Double over drive? Not close to anything that is posted on the tremec website either for the 3160

Really hope this isnt the case!

OK I am some shocked about how little excitement this creates. I absolutely get that this car is about the TOTAL driving experience and not doing a 1/4 mile.. That, to me, is what makes this soooooo awesome. The thing it was never designed to do... it does pretty damn well.

I can only hazzard a guess as to how well it DRIVES. Looks like driving school for me.. I really should develop skills up to at least 80% of the car's capabilities.

I didn't want to start a new thread and I think my question fits best in this thread since it sort of relates, does anyone know if this car will have hill assist? Seems like it is a standard feature nowadays on most manuals, I know a lot of people aren't fans of it, I hated it at first in my 2012 WRX but got used to it and grew to like it on the bigger hills around town.

I wouldn't be surprised if it has it, but I can't tell you for sure. I know my base GT has it standard, so I would think they would include it in the GT350. The thing I like best about the feature is that you can turn it off.

It's not listed on the window sticker or the features with any of the option packages that have been posted on this web site, so that's no help.

I love 6th haha! What is the theoretical top speed in6th? I'm too lazy to calculate, I do problem solving all day. It's someone else's turn.

I read somewhere, the top speed is 180mph.
If so the chart is off a little.
As for top speed, we will likely have to wait for official numbers.

The charts show the gearing is tame for 0-60, just like I said earlier. First gear isn't set up for fast acceleration from a stop. If you are in a GT350 and there's a GT PP with good tires launching next to you, don't be surprised if you are playing catch up.

Also, this shows that performance driving near the redline on the streets will be limited to first gear. Once you shift out of first you're basically at the speed limit. Yuck!

Edit: nice charts. Thanks!
