-I had 3k on mine. It started when I put on my DP. Strong two stroke engine smell.
-starts smoking from a cold start with 20 seconds.
-stock turbo. Other mods listed by my name.
-oil change at 3k. High grade synthetic oil. Don't know specs.
-no mods that you mentioned.
I thought about alignment, but would that result in two evenly bald back tires and perfectly fine front tires?
My car doesn't pull left or right...but I did smack a curb pretty hard a while back.
I'm not lowered. He was a Mustang guy and said something about IRS, but at the end of the day, he's a tire changer. That fact that stock tires are only $200 apiece tells me they are basically throw down.
You stated this with confidence, but it doesn't sound like the same deal as I am having. When you said you never have the problem while driving--does that mean if you drive around, then idle for a few minutes it won't happen?
I was slipping and sliding during a downpour two weeks ago. I checked my back tires and they were completely bald. Even worn on both. Front tires were fine. I went to a tire shop and found out threads were coming out and they would have completely blown in another 100 or so miles.

I bought a kit from Brent at Wannaspeed.com handmade for preturbo. He figures in all the variables to eliminate blade erosion and IC pooling. This particular car will, I predict, make exceptional use of this technique because of the little overworked turbo. I'll let you all know how it works in...
Good question. Since I'm about to run preturbo water/meth AND have a FR IC I'm betting on the double cooling measures having a compound impact for the better. Plus less flow constriction from the stock IC
Strokers, are you following this thread? It seems to be tied directly to aftermarket DPs. Unless the others on the thread experiencing the exact same thing all have blown head gaskets.
Just wanted to chime in. I'm having the same problems. I've got an aftermarket DP and a tune. I changed my oil at 3k, now at 4800 miles. Still a prob. So at this point, is it wait and see?
I was fish tailing on a very wet freeway this morning--and not on purpose. Pulled over and noticed both my rear tires were completely bald. They looked like racing slicks.
How is this possible with only 4K miles: I never smoke my tires but get squirrelly sometimes in wet parking lots...
