Everybody will be happy to know all your nagging got to me. Instead of pulling a warranty scam, I'm going to buy out my lease and throw a big ATP screw on it. It's the only way I could think to get out of this with a clear conscious:amen:
I've got everything ready to rock, even down to my ATP modular DP. A tricked out 2013ish GT by my house has pulled up to me a few times, wanting to play. Next time he does that, he's going to hear a jet noise and see my back license plate. Muhahahaha.
A bolt from my intake got sucked into my turbo and I think jacked up the blades pretty bad. It is putting out 9 psi vs 23 (Cobb tune). Before I take it to the dealer I'd like to assess the damage myself so I can have a believable explanation.
How hard is it to remove the turbo?
Took it to my mechanic yesterday morning. He was getting an error code regarding the throttle body, which he thinks is consistent with my mods and not having the proper tune. After he blew the code, it still whirs a little. Taking it to the dealership hopefully tomorrow.
I'm assuming your smoke problems stopped when you got your turbo replaced? This still leaves a little doubt in my mind because I started getting the smoke the day I added my DP. Tomorrow, I am reverting my car to stock. I'll report what happens.
Cool. Glad to hear it made a difference on the butt dyno. Do you feel like it recovered the power you felt that you lost with the DP and CAI?
And you said you are going to get it pro tuned right?
Thought I checked the pipes and hoses pretty good but it was a little dark. Here's another sound clip to see if you all can verify the sounds. The audio is better than last.
That's what I'm thinking. I was going to wait for Cobb to release their next OTS because they are working on their own cai and IC.
I look forward to the protune update by you.
The only difference in our set ups is a have a full race IC. Cheers.
Thanks guys. would that have caused what I described before I turned off the car? then corrected afterward except for the whirring. Is it safe to drive a bit before fixing?
Ive got close to the same set up as you. Except I did tune, dp then jlt cai. I noticed a good increase in performance with the tune and dp but felt i lost some when i installed the cai. or maybe it power was distributed to higher rpms. Ive got my ic waiting to go. let me know how yours turns...
Coming home, I do a decent pull, revving to about 6K between gears. Then my engine starts sputtering and wont accelerate. I coast into a parking lot. Restart my car. Now it runs fine except it makes a strange whirring sound that is synched with the engine rpms.
