Just over 20K absolutely trouble free miles on my 2018 GT, nearly 6K with boost. Recently my 10R80 started exhibiting a flare when shifting from 5th to 6th under light throttle in normal driving.
I used my Ngauge to delete the KAM (Keep Active Memory) and I re-flashed the tune originally...
Pulled off the interstate today and at the first red light, I noticed quite a bit of unusual noise at idle in the cabin.
Got home and checked, everything looks perfect, but right at the head unit/tensioner it sounds like a muffled box of rocks now.
I have the P1X with helical gears and I have...
Replacing various bolts on my spare Gen3 long block build. I understand Torque to Yield fine, which is easy enough.
When the manual says (for instance) 177 inch pounds, then 28 inch pounds, I understand this as taking it to the 177 inch mark in increments, then going an additional 28 inch...
I ran the numbers on the 1/4 mile calculator as follows, obviously based on ideal and equal conditions:
Hellcat Redeye weight with average size driver = 4,650 lbs
Estimated WHP = 700
2018 Mustang GT, A10 with average size driver = 4,000 lbs
Estimated WHP with Stage II Pro-C, with mods = 625...
According to a tire/rim chart I use, supposedly a 255 tire is the safe minimum width for use on a 10" rim.
I just mounted some 255's on my new 10" front rims and I don't like the way it looks.
Is it considered safe on a performance car?
I wanted to give some feedback on Darryl Wengerd at Wengerd Performance and Tuning in Paris, Tennessee. My set up:
Procharger Stage II with 4.75" pulley
ID1050X injectors
Thermal R&D Axle back
93 octane
I originally had a tune with a different well known tuning outfit and I was thinking the...
Finally getting the data logging finalized and was given the OK to do a WOT. My set up is:
Stage II with 4.75" pulley
ID1050X injectors
Thermal R&D axle back
PBD remote tune
As expected the lower rev band is like stock, i.e. predictable and easy to drive. Once you hit around 4,500 rpm, it...
Will begin data logging using an Ngauge for a newly installed Procharger Stage II with P1X.
The instructions I was sent say:
When you are ready to datalog simply go to diagnostics>datalogging> select the config and then normal or race mode. By touching the screen it will start the logger. It...
Got a Stage II P1x installed and running. I'll post some observations as a first time FI install from my perspective in the next few days.
Using PBD for the tuning, they have been great so far and they were able to unlock my Ngauge that was supplied with my Stage II kit.
Still have the...
Installed the Thermal R&D axle back exhaust system.
Fitment was perfect. Quality is excellent. The deep throaty muscle car sound is superb. Idle is relatively quiet, and cruising is not obnoxious or eyebrow raising.
The sound it makes with the throttle is intoxicating.
I am quite...
I need to understand how the system works.
BOV = how does it know what pressure and rpm to open? Is it adjusted or set based on the head pulley size?
Head pulley size = my P1x came with a 4.75 pulley and I may go ahead and install a 4.25 or 4.38. How can I calculate the correct 8 rib belt...
I am posting this in the FI section because I have purchased quite a bit of FI gear lately.
Just wanted to comment on the great service I have received from Terry Reeves at Beefcake.
I know there are many good vendors on this forum, but I can only make recommendations on experience...
Have my newly arrived Stage II Procharger with P1X. Supplied head unit pulley is 4.75.
My goal is 650 +/- to the rear wheels. No fuel system upgrades come with the kit, as expected. I have some brand new 56# injectors and a new boost a pump. Obviously Procharger feels the stock Gen 3, 2018...
Have a Ford dealer about 200 miles south of my area that recently sold a base GT500 for $74880.00 (plus TTL). As I understand it this is MSRP plus the gas guzzler tax.
They were only allocated this one and they don't know when they may get another.
Are there any other Ford dealers that are...
No likes my 2018 GT . . . . and won't take a chance with a little "fun run". I have pulled along side several muscle cars in the past few months, and no one will take the bait.
Newer 392 Hemi - no. SS Camaro - no. V-8 Challengers - no. An older, very clean Viper - no.
Pulled next to a...
Based on your actual experience or what you have observed first hand, what FI system has shown to have the lowest maintenance coupled with the best long term, real world reliability?
I realize there are many variables, the power output, region of the country, how often you're in boost, who did...
Building a 2019 5.0 as a project for one of my boys. Bought this complete engine out of a totaled 2019 Mustang GT with 10K miles. Checked all the cylinder bores and all 8 are dead nuts on 3.662". All bores are concentric and look near new (of course they would with low miles).
Since we are...
